Today with My Wii-U and Xbox 360

Configured my Wii-U, watched some Star Wars Clone Wars Season 2, and played a bunch of Xbox 360 games. No time for fancy sentences tonight, I got a computer networking class that’s kicking my butt.

Wii-U. Couldn’t link to my Wii account. Made a new one.

Clone Wars Season 2. Improved graphics from season 1. Looks like paper craft or claymation to me. I’m liking the look of it now.

Xbox 360 Trouble. Couldn’t redownload Dust An Elysian Tale. My active que is filled up with Xbox One stuff I’m not even downloading. I’m afraid to cancel them all but maybe that’s the answer.

Battlestations: Midway [X360]. It was neat driving a PT boat through the attack on Pearl Harbor. A later ship battle kept beating me. Not sure how to get artillery to reload fast enough or torpedoes to go in the direction I want them too. Frustrating.

Last Remnant [X360] Played until I died trying to free a child who strayed into a bandit’s den. I was doing fine up until that moment and then was suddenly destroyed by them. I don’t get that. The battle system is a mystery to me in terms of positioning for flanking moves. I have no idea what makes that happen. I just assign attacks and see what results. I began to like the story and lavish cut scenes. I was quite absorbed by it until that death. I’ll keep this game and return to it another time.

Top Spin 2 [X360]: This game has no tutorial and tells you nothing about the controls. There isn’t even a control scheme you can look up in options. I flailed around for a while. I figured out a serve and a basic swing but I couldn’t control direction at all. I can’t believe this game doesn’t tell you how to play it. I’ve never played a game that didn’t at least teach you what each button does. Weird.

Warhammer 40k Space Marine [X360}: This is a lot like Gears of War in gameplay and design. What’s better though is a more involved melee system. It plays faster too. I’m totally loving it. I’m currently slightly stuck in an area that throws exploding enemies at you much like the Tickers in Gears. I’ll get past it though. This game is super fun. More of this tomorrow for sure.

I really want to figure out what is keeping game downloads from working on Xbox 360. Anyone got any ideas?

I'm not surprised. I copied it from Word Online again. I was just too annoyed and tired to do anything off the cloud that night. Cloud's where it's at, right?

My boys play Minecraft on the Wii U all the time and I always think of you lol. I have a digital copy of Space Marine for the PS3 and I'm always meaning to play it. You're not the first person I've heard singing its praises. The 40k video games almost always seem to focus on the Space Marines but I'd love to see some love for the other races, like the Eldar, which are basically space elves.

Good luck with your Xbox 360 problem. I'm playing Alan wake on mine right now for October, first time I've used the 360 since playing F.E.A.R. last October. I find that I have nostalgic feelings for the system-level sound effects lol.

In don't know much about the Warhammer universe but space elves sound cool to me.

I want to check out Alan Wake sometime.

I think the Top Spin 2 controlls are similar to the Virtua Tennis games.Triangle/Y are the lobs, the side buttons are spints, and X/A are basic hits with the control being used with the joystick.

That sucks about the WiiU account. I wonder if that has anything to do with the Wii going offline.

Every game has a thing in the options that shows you the controls. Why not this one? Maybe I should've looked it up online, but it offended me. I still have 3 and 4 to try out.

I just didn't remember my password. I have it for 3DS though. Maybe I'll try that next time.
