Victor Vran ... that's fun to say.
Banner Saga and. . . Victor Vran?

Atari Flashback Classics Vol. 3 is MIA at Gamestop and everywhere else at the moment, so I'm still waiting. I played Banner Saga 1 for a while and then saw my friend Mark playing Victor Vran (a Games with Gold freebee recently) and saw a Diablo III look-a-like. How could I resist that? I switched, and we both played it the rest of the time.
Banner Saga on easy is definitely easy. Your characters seem to do better damage. I pretty much rolled over guys, but that's fine. I want to take in the story and mess around with the characters and battle system without undo anxiety. Maybe when I'm done all three games, I'll check out achievements and try some of them.
Victor Vran seems to be something a bunch of rogue Blizzard x-employees would've made with a stolen Diablo III engine. It's really a Bulgarian team of no connection to Blizzard. But it's so darn similar, right down to enemy laser attacks and glowing yellow super champions. Of course, that's not a bad thing at all. I've been wanting more Diablo III, minus the super high production cut-scenes. That's ok too because the gameplay areas are just as beautiful as Diablo III.
I thought that the voice work for Vran was done by the guy who did the Necromancer in Diablo III but it's not. It's Doug Cockle who is the English voice of Geralt in Witcher 3. I knew I recognized him from something.
So, I'm stuck in Victor Vran now, until it's done. There's seemingly a lot of content in the game too and ample replay value. I was playing with various Hexes turned on. They are like Skulls in Halo that ramp up the difficulty in different ways. I made the game fast and full of Champion level monsters. It made for crazy hectic battles that force you to use all your skills. I love that. I just got to watch the button mashing. I don't want to give myself nerve damage. The hazards of gaming.
