Christmas Eve in Minecraft

I'm still in choice paralysis, but when Mark invited me into his Minecraft world (survival mode), I had to go. So we played that a good long time. What's to tell? Just a lot about frustrating hidden treasures and cats, lots of cats.

I found a treasure map in a sunken ship and went to the X marked on the map. I dug and I dug. Then Mark found me and he dug and dug. Nothing. Neither of us could find the darn thing. I really, really hate those treasure maps. It seems like I have this problem every darn time. Mark found one on the map he got though. So I know it exists somewhere. I'm just not digging out an entire island to find it. That seems very unreasonable to me.

Well, later on I was doing a lot of different things: breeding animals, digging very deep pits, mining for diamonds, connecting both our mines, fighting Wither Skeletons in the Nether, fishing, exploring, and blasting a mountain to rubble. Then I died in an accident in a mineshaft. It happens. I was kind of pissed though, but I returned. I made myself do penance by digging what I call a Sarlacc Pit. It's just a inverted pyramid into the ground. Then I used the matterials dug to build a regular pyramid and top it with carpet to give it a glowing top, like an Egyptian pyramid. Penance done, I returned to mining.

Mark, however, after he expanded the buildings of the village into one mega structure, started breeding cats. We had a whole house full of them. They don't do much but sit there once you tame them. That's kind of disappointing. We had to clear them out eventually. There's no other way of clearing them out except to kill them. It was funny watching Mark chase them around the house. Kind of disturbing too. But what are you going to do. They never leave once you tame them.

Anyway, that was a day in Minecraft. I keep wanting to do some kind of project in the game. I'd like to go into creative mode and find a few villages and link them with roads. Then return in survival mode and trade with villagers. I need some kind of infrastructure before I start. Going into creative mode disables achievements, but I've gotten all those already anyway. I think that might be my next thing.

Merry Xmas. Don't stay up too late or Santa won't come. Ha ha.

Too bad you can't keep the cats. Yakuza 6 cats stay content in the cat cafe.

We kept a few but a couple dozen become a racket. Plus they sit on all the chests so they don't open. You have to push them out of the way all the time. I wish you could shoo them out the door or something.

In other words, they act just like real cats.

ha ha, yep. Also, they are not even accident prone. They can fall from any height and survive unlike every other animal in the game.

Ha ha, that's funny the cat collecting in Yakuza 6. Such finicky tastes those cats.

I used to stay up waiting for Santa...and opening a couple of gifts because it's technically Christmas. Those were the best times. Now on Christmas Eve I was out before midnight.

I think that when you and Mark can't choose you guys always go to Minecraft and get tons of enjoyment. I do the same with NCAA Football 14.

My sisters and I on Xmas eve used to try and figure out where my parents hid all the gifts. One year we found them in the attic. I think, in some strange way we still believed in Santa until we saw that pile.

Most of the time, I show up at Mark's place and he's already playing Minecraft. Usually I'd poke fun at him and play something else, but then there were some new achievements for the pandas, and now I'm hooked on experimenting.
