I got myself some accessories for Xbox: a keyboard, a headset and a web cam. Here's a pic.

I'm having some issues with broadcasting on Xbox. You're supposed to see yourself overtop your gameplay aren't you? I have to fool with the settings some more tomorrow and maybe get it to work right.

I was stimulated to get this stuff because my current course has us students doing presentations via video feed. I figure, I'll use this web cam if my laptop's built in one doesn't do the job. I think it'll be ok though.

I don't know how much I'll actually broadcast on Xbox so I might look up some apps to see what other fun stuff I can do with it.

I used to the headset to talk to Cortana today. Wee, that was fun. I'll try and use it here and there to see if she gives me some useful links when I need them. That headset sort of hurts my head after a while though.

I also want to be able to chat if someone I know pops on. I see someone I went to college with pop on almost every time I play, so maybe he'll chat sometime.

The keyboard I'll use on Edge, maybe even write a blog there. Save me some time. I could play Bomber Crew with it too. Not every game supports the keyboard but that one does.

That is all.

Are you gonna start a streaming channel? You could do one without showing your face if that makes you too nervous.

I'm not sure. I need to figure out why I'm not seeing my feed while streaming to Mixer. It shows up in the preview setup screen but not while I'm playing.

Funny ... I had my own issues with mixer earlier today. The UI is not intuitive.

On Xbox it's pretty effortless but I thought you played while seeing your own video. Maybe I'm wrong and only the viewers see it.

Oh nice. That should be fun.

I messed with it for a day and then put it aside for now. I'll think of something useful for the stuff sometime soon.

Video feed presentations for a class, that is freaking cool. I wonder if you could do all of that through the XBox.

Looks like you could be ready for streaming games on Twitch.

That's what I was thinking. I'm a little shy doing it with friends around though, so I may just do it when I'm alone with my laptop. It's kind of embarrassing. I think I have to do a mock job interview or something later on.

Exaclty my thought. I'd like to stream Minecraft and expose my friend Mark as the crazed barbarian he is in the game while I run around eating vegetarian and screaming foul at every animal and villager killed. ha ha. I don't think I'd get him to go along with it though. But, we'll see. I haven't figured out why I can't see my own video feed when I start broadcasting.

I've dabbled in streaming but it's been over a year since I did. I've never shown my face on YouTube.

I guess they don't have Kinect for Xbox anymore?

I have a launch Xbox One, and I think you can still plug in Kinect to it, but not on the newer models. I wanted one but it's still weirdly $50. I would've picked one up for $20 just to try out voice control.

My brother-in-law's family has one. It's funny when we're watching TV over there to see a notice come up whenever face recognition spots someone in the room with a Xbox Live account.
