It’s New Carnival Games for DS. I’m still in the park playing the games for big prizes.

I traveled to another part of the carnival and came to the Player’s Tent. This is just a place where you can customize your character and look at the achievement list. You unlock new items for your character through achievements, buying them with tickets won in games, or by finding them hidden around the carnival. One of the item classes is pets. From the names I’m guessing there are the usual dogs and cats, but also moose, a duck, a goat and maybe a bear - oh, and probably a bird or two. I’m motivated. I want a pet.

Next, I went to an area with a lake where they have the game Gone Fishin’. You use the stylus to control a fishing rod with a magnet on the end of it. Lots of junk floats by in the water and you avoid all that until a fish appears. You get three tries and each fish caught gives you tickets. 1 fish is 5 tickets, 2 fish gets you 10 tickets and 3 gets you some unknown prize. So far this is the easiest game to win tickets. I got two fish several times, and 1 fish almost every time. I still need to get 3 fish for the big prize. There is a lot of junk, and it gets hard to avoid the shoes, cans and plastic trash. It’s like fishing in one of the five ocean gyres where all the plastic waste goes.

Another game around the lake is Pop-A-Score. You throw darts at moving balloons. Use the stylus to flick the darts at targets. You get five tries. The highest point value balloons appear at the top and disappear quickly. I got the big prize, a Walrus Mask. Cool, I guess.
