Ghast Thrasher is a cool name, but Cow Destroyer is king.
Solar Cells, Transportation Wells and Tool Naming

I played several other games today, but I only grabbed a screenshot from Minecraft, so I’m sharing that.
I’m fascinated with the solar cell your can make in the game. They can be made to create a charge by exposure to daytime or nighttime. I set it for night and linked it to some redstone lamps with redstone. They now turn on at night and turn off during the day. I was camped on the top level of the village’s church, so the lamps made a kind of beacon at night.
I was also messing around with water and how you can control it to use as vertical transportation. I took out the ladders in the three story church and dropped water down the shaft. At the bottom it spread out and made a mess of the place, but I figured out how to get it to stay as a tight vertical tube of water. Then I jumped in and swam up to the roof. It’s more like a Halo energy lift now. In the screenshot you can only see the top of the water lift.
I also made an anvil to fix tools and name them. I used the naming convention mentioned in the James Clavell book, Shogun. The first thing you kill with a sword is what you name it. So, mine became Cow Destroyer. The first thing I broke up with my diamond pickaxe was Obsidian, so it became Obsidian Chopper. My bow became Ghast Trasher. I like that one.
