I hate that I can never bring myself to put games on easy mode.

I was surprised to see this sequel to Etrian Odyssey V on the release list for February. I immediately tried to preorder, but it was out the next day, so I just picked it up on the 5th. I played the first two missions tonight.
The design of the game is exactly like Etrian Odyssey V, which is a good thing because it looks great and the menus are super easy to navigate. In this game you are on a floating city that travels to Lemuria. Once there you are given missions to explore the island.
Some differences I noticed. One was new classes. There’s a Farmer class and a Zodiac class, maybe others, I don’t rightly remember all the classes of EOV. I made a guild named Scything and five characters named after farm animals: Equine, Bovine, Porcine, Ovine (sheep), and Gallin (short for Gallinaceous which describes chickens, among other ground feeding, game birds). Equine is the Farmer class, Bovine my medic, Porcine a Survivor class (uses a bow), Ovine a Warmage, and Gallin a Zodiac (some kind of mage). Yea, I don’t have a real melee, front-line fighter. I don’t care. I choose whom I want.
I’m putting the game on Picnic difficulty, which means easy peazy. I’m also using auto-battle a lot, just to see what happens. I’m stressed, so I can’t be bothered by choices right now. I did, however, carefully choose my skills. I’ll observe how auto-battle works, and if I see it not doing what I want, I’ll step in and take over.
One more thing. The voices of NPCs are all in Japanese with English text boxes. I think EOV had voice translation. I’m liking the Japanese.
