After half a dozen tries, I finally beat the final boss. Then I started mopping up various other things on the map. Finally, I started messing with the game, seeing how the AI reacts, exploring and doing silly things. It’s not over yet.

The final boss, on default difficulty, caused me quite a headache. After half a dozen runs at it, I stopped and did other things hoping to level. Instead I found the ultimate weapon in the game and discovered I could carry three weapons. How I missed that this whole time, I don’t know. With a rocket launcher, a weapon that launches an exploding plasma bolt, and the ultimate weapon, which shoots a black hole that sucks in everything around it, I was able, with a lot of running around and quick weapon switching, to beat that boss.

Then, among other things, I tackled the last four propaganda towers. These are platform challenges. You jump from platform to platform to get high enough to reach the kill switch and replace the projected image of the final boss with Terry Crews’ character.  Some of the platforms move and others are behind laser walls you need to jump over, or around. Some of the towers are difficult but the game has checkpoints, so you don’t always have to start completely from the beginning when you fail. I was still cursing anyway. 

After that I had a map with nothing unvisited on it. However, there are still some hidden things that only appear when you get close to them. Which is how Forza Horizon 4 does it. So, I grabbed my favorite armored vehicle with a giant plow on the front and drove around to see what I could see. Inevitably someone started shooting at me and, as the mayhem piled up and the alert level rose, I found myself fighting an army. It was a lot of fun to watch 7 tanks spiral into the black hole I created with my ultimate weapon. It’s going to be fun just goofing around with this game and finishing achievements.
