Richard Steven Horvitz Awareness Day

I just realized that the voice of Kaos in the Skylanders Academy TV show (and games) and the voice of Orthopox 13, Crypto’s boss, in the Destroy All Humans! series are one and the same, Richard Steven Horvitz.

Just to make it obvious to my ears, I installed my original Xbox copy of Destroy All Humans! on my XBO (it’s backwards compatible) and listened to the opening cut-scene. I could hear a little bit of Kaos in Orthopox 13. I was thrilled.

Of course, these two character’s voices are just the tip of the iceberg for Mr. Horvitz. The only one in his long resume that I remember clearly, though, is Raz from Psychonauts.

He will be at a Con in April, which is where I will be too, since it’s being held just 20 minutes from where I live. I’m so tempted to do a Kaos voice for him, but I won’t. Maybe I should cosplay as Orthopox?

That's awesome! I loved renting Destroy All Humans! and I need to finish Psychonauts.

Yea, it was called Path of the Furon and I played it for about a half hour before stopping in disgust. It should've been good though, being set in the 70s. I think it wasn't made by Pandemic, the dev on 1 and 2.

I think it was EA that bought Pandemic and then shredded them. Then they put out Path of the Furon with another dev who pooch punted the IP into oblivion. Now someone else owns the IP, I forget who now, but it's been brought up a few times that it might make a comeback. Who knows for sure though.

Aside from voicing Kaos in Skylanders and Raz in Psychonauts, he was also ZIM from Invader ZIM (great show), and one of the beavers in Angry Beavers. His voice for Kaos and ZIM are nearly exactly the same.
