Huh... So that's what it looks like.

Oh, it’s just like Advance Wars in a medieval setting. It even looks a lot like Advance Wars. I’m taken back to my 2004 fat DS and those chubby, cute sprites of tanks, soldiers and planes. Here it’s lancers, swordsmen, rangers (my favorite) and wagons (Maybe later it becomes modern? I’ve seen some screenshots of tanks and such). I was immediately hooked but someone anticipating an upcoming struggle with difficulty.

What happens with me in these games is that I like to make formations and plans that look interesting and tell a cool story. What I seem to avoid, is crunching the numbers, which inevitably leads to destruction in the tougher levels. This is why I’ve never finished any of the Advance Wars games, or most turn-based strategy games I’ve played like Age of Empires and Warcraft.
Whatever, I say. Yesterday I created a retreat strategy (it was part of the mission requirements) that I thought was excellent. It looked cool with a row of rangers (archers) backing a few battered lancer units. It suggested a story involving selfless defense by lancers in order that the valuable leader might escape to fight another day. I was satisfied even though I only got a “B” rating. Oh, the rating system is just like Advance Wars too. “S” is the highest.
So, I’m really enjoying it, very worth the $20. I saw in the trailer that you can make your own maps and share them. Also, some sort of multiplayer and an arcade mode I unlocked yesterday, and which I don’t know anything about yet.
