Couple O' Things

Got a couple game related things to mention.

One is that I just noticed that Nintendo Zones have been discontinued. It's going to be very hard for me to find any Street Passes now. Maybe I'll get some at the convention I'm going to in April, but for the most part it is over. I still have some Plaza games to finish too. I'll just have to buy players with coins earned from steps taken instead. Bought friends aren't the same as real ones. Everyone knows that.

Two is that I restarted Etrian Odyssey Nexus on Basic difficulty with a new party named after metal bands. Now I'll be able to increase the difficulty if I want to mid-game. I'm going with a Hero, a Ronin, a Survivalist, a Zodiac and an Arcanist. The Hero and Ronin are sword fighters; the Survivalist uses a bow and arrow; the Zodiac is my magic user and the arcanist can either heal or use damaging magic. I was sick of the straight Medic class that only heals. I need everyone to pull their weight in fighting.

Third is that Borderlands 3 seems likely to be announced at GDC this week. I want to see some gameplay footage.

Bought friends will do some pretty weird shit for the right price though, and that's worth at least a grand in Vegas.

I guess it'd be entertaining for a weekend in Vegas. I guess that's what my Mii Plaza is now, a weekend in Vegas.

It's too bad they're getting rid of Nintendo Zones, but they haven't done anything new with StreetPass in years.  It's a shame, because StreetPass was one of the things that made the 3DS really unique and stand out.

It seemed to have a lot of potential, but I haven't really used it much in games that had it. I still have all these street pass shares for all sorts of games. But, I used it a lot for Plaza games.

I think you will be happier with more difficulty. You will die more, but your victories will be very satisfying. That game rewards thoughtful strategy.

I already had a party wipe on one of the first missions. The game let me restart once though, so - phew! I didn't think i'd get beat so quickly. I think not having a dedicated medic is hurting me. The Arcanist can heal, though, but I need a few more levels to get it.

yeah, it can be pretty tough. Try not to get too greedy when you're out there... if you're running low on magic or health or healing, best to head back.

I walked into a room with a boss the other day, and turned around and left right away. My team wasn't at 100%, so no way Seymour (it was a giant plant monster).
