July Games I Want

Problem is, I'm broke. But if it appears on Game Pass for Xbox One, I'm golden. Or, if my library gets it, I can rent it. Otherwise, I'll be waiting for sales to appear probably six months from now. So here's the list whether I get to play them or not.

Dragon Quest Builders 2: I didn't finish the first one because of some trouble getting the game to score my building projects, but I really liked the exploration and the battles. I'm glad that Minecraft finally got something similar to the battles in DQB with the Illagers, but DQB's are more fun. I know my library is getting this game, so I'll rent it for my PS4.

Mysterio is my new favorite Marvel character.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order: I really liked the first MUA. The second one, less so, but who can resist a Diablo style rpg with Marvel characters? I can't Unfortunately for me, it's only on Switch, which I don't have. Why? I really, really want to dive into this on Xbox One with my friend Mark. Ah well. My plan to own all systems isn't working too well as of late.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses: I've liked most of the FIre Emblem games, some more than others. I couldn't get into Awakening, but I loved Echoes. Of course, I still don't have a Switch. Rats! One day, perhaps.

OMG that gunplay. So good.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood: I couldn't believe how good New Order was when it came out. I mean, I've always been a Wolfenstein fan, but Machine Games really hit a home run and set the tone for all current gen story-based FPS games. I managed to miss the stand-alone DLC for New Order called Old Order, but I recently got myself a copy of that. I don't want to miss this stand-alone DLC for Wolfenstein II, but, I probably will, 'cause money. I'm sure it'll go on sale not too long from now and who knows, Wolfenstein New Order is on Game Pass right now, so why not this sometime down the road. I'll be watching for it.

Who knew July was going to have so much to interest me? I just need to be on summer vaca with a pocket full of cash. Then I'd be in heaven.

I don't think there's any July games I really want.  There's a Umihara Kawase game coming to Switch, but I don't have to have it right away.

Interesting game that Umihara Kawase. I like the idea of a "suishi chef hero lost in a world of surreal water creatures", to paraphrase the wikipedia description. Fresh! looks colorful and fun too.

I'm kinda looking forward to seeing Dr. Mario World on iOS. I knoew there's going to be microtransactions, so I want to see how playable the game will be if I opt not spend any money.

That's a good one. I'd love to play that on a tablet.

A big hell yes to Fire Emblem. Maybe on the other three. I liked Wolfenstein II, kind of intrigued about a Nintendo-made Marvel game.

I caught an interview with someone on the MUA3 team. They seem to really want to keep it close to the gameplay of the first MUA, which is music to my ears.

I want to play FE Echoes again so bad. I think I rented it and played just a handful of hours.

Youngblood looks fun, but I was too much a n00b to really enjoy the initial Wolfenstein reboot. I beat it, but putting it on Very Easy makes me feel like I didn't REALLY beat it, and for some reason I skipped a lot of the story, which was the whole point of continuing anyway.

There's something about the feel of the gameplay mechanics that is so great. It's fast and the weapons feel powerful and super dangerous.

I think I beat the first one on the default difficulty setting, but it does get very hard. I didn't even think about the harder settings or the one with permadeath.

My favorite moment in it was probably when I cranked down the difficulty to easy and ran around dual weilding rocket launchers. Gibs be flying.

I really want DQ builders and Marvel too... but I think I'm gonna buy Super Mario Maker 2.

I've heard there's a kind of story mode in SMM 2. I'm interested in that.

I decided to skip Mario Maker because I'm not into building levels. I never built a level in Little Big Planet either. Just no interest. Dragon Quest Builders 2 on the other hand I will play the heck out of. I'm still waiting for the first one to drop in price on Switch. I have it for Vita but that isn't getting much play anymore.

I bought Mario.  I’m not interested in making levels either but it has a robust single player and a good system of finding good player made levels. Loving it so far.

I'm looking forward to Astral Chain next month.

I'm always interested in what Platinum is doing.

I picked up DQ Builders 2 and Fire Emblem: Three Houses digitally using the new coupon deals. Yes in Canada it's $132 CAD plus 13% tax in Ontario (that's around 150 all in) but if I bought both of them at retail they'd cost me about $188 (tax included) so I do save some money.

I think I want Astral Chain too but I'll wait.

Well, at least health care is universal up there in the great white north.
