PSN Binge, Bastion, EDF 2025

I discovered a lot of game deals on PSN the other day and bought a bunch of them. Today I finished Bastion and played some Earth Defense Force 2025 co-op with Mark.

PSN Sales: I was delighted to see on sale on PS4 a lot of indie tower defense games and resource gathering sims with a cartoony art style. These are game types I don't see much in the Xbox store. So I got a bundle of tower defense games and a game where you quest by gathering resources.

Another game type I don't see much on Xbox is Mahjong. I saw a lot of them on PSN and some even with story modes, but I didn't get one this time. I got the Valkyria Chronicles Remaster for $10 instead.

I saw a lot of arcade game and Neo Geo remasters as well but didn't get any.

I also looked through PSN on my PS3 and saw there were still PS1 games there. I redownloaded Silent Hill which I'd already bought yeras ago.

This is what I love about having mutliple consoles, you get access to a wider field of games.

Bastion: I finished it today. Great game. I love all the different weapons and their upgrades. I eventually spent the most time with the Scrap Shotgun and Mortar. My special was the Shotgun mega blast. I really tempted to replay it with new game plus, but I probably wont because I have so much else to check out.

EDF 2025: This was a Games with Gold freebee this week on Xbox. Mark and I played it co-op today through about 20 levels on Normal and then the first two on the higher difficulties just to farm for better weapons. We're both playing as Rangers. I've tried the other classes before but they are more difficult to use effectively. They mostly work best in conjunction with other classes in multiplayer. So Ranger it was. It's a totally fun game in co-op. I'm glad it still runs online. It's the best way to play it.

Love Valkyria Chronicles. So far I've played it on PS3, PC, PS4, and Switch.

So do I. I'm watching the sales for VC4 closely. I'll get that eventually.

I saw an anime the other day that had very similar graphics to VC. I forget the name though. I wonder if the artist on VC is working in anime right now. I love that hand-drawn, watercolor style.

You should really try Wing Diver, it's very fun to play. Problem is getting better guns. I'd suggest have one play as Ranger and one as a Wing Diver on a higher difficultly on the 2nd Level (maybe not the best farm level but decent if you arent far into the game). Kill the ants with ranger and have Wing Diver collect the new weapons. Once you get a solid amount of good weapons that class really opens up.

I've done those sorts of things. Problem is there is a weapon level cap for certain difficulty settings. I want to get to 70% completion to unlock the abilty to use any weapons on any setting, but 70%, I think, requires multiple playthroughs.

I played as Wing Diver until I got enough armor for the achievement. I wonder if, in co-op, whether weapon pickups go to both players? I'm thinking yes.
