I like wind water a lot. But I never finished it. Got to the end, but life got in the way. I used to love just sailing around and discovering stuff.
Another Hour in Wind Waker

I put in another hour into Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker today. I'm liking it more and more.
I got through the second island. Then I got the sail on another island to start my sailing adventures. It's really cool to zoom over the ocean and see what's out there like: life rafts, observation posts, barrels floating around, boats sailing past and plenty of new islands.
I made it to the third island where I discovered what the wind waker is. It's a conductor's baton. Thus began the musical element to the gameplay. Then I threw plant bombs at rocks to open pathways into the island interior. But then I had to stop for now.
I talked to every NPC I met and took on any side missions. I'm not obesssive about completing them though. Like I didn't find all four boys hidding on the second island and I didn't find Tingle's secret stash in that maze of rat tunnels. I'm pursuing those things as they come up and going with the flow of the story instead of forcing myself to backtrack, or stay in one place overlong in order to finish every mission. I'll get back there eventually, I figure. I'd also rather have a sense of being in a real story and not some obsessive completionist gaming.
I'll be progressing in this game little by little when I have a few moments at home.
