Holiday Sales Binge and Bowser's Insides

I'm getting caught up in the holiday sales. I'd better reign it in after this weekend. Here's some of the damage below. Also, I've been playing Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story on DS. So far it's great.

I picked up a bunch of $15 and less Wii-U games to build up my meager collection. Here's a list:

Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival
Bayonetta 2
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Star Fox Zero
Super Mario 3D World

I'm also renting Zelda Breath of the Wild from my library.

I also got another Starlink ship, Nadir. I have three of the five now. I guess I'm back on the toys-to-life craze again this Christmas. Must be the sales. It's what got me into Skylanders back in 2015. Starlink is dead. Ubisoft isn't making any more content or toys for the game. It's the right time for me to pounce.

I've been playing Bower's Inside Story and it's great. It's so inventive and fun. I just beat Fawful's robot where you bounce back and forth from Bowser and the Mario Bros on both screens in the battle. It's great. I feel iike a little kid, pulling out the DS at every spare moment to get farther in the game. Something stressful happens, back to Inside Story. Waiting for my girlfiend to get ready to go out, Inside Story. Computer booting, Inside Story. I'm waiting for someone to say, "Put that game down!". But, oh yeah, I'm an adult now. I guess that means I have an adiction. Sweet, sweet adiction..

Do you have any Animal Crossing amiibo? You won't be able to play Amiibo Festival without them.

I never played Bayonetta 2. The first one got too violent for me.

DKC: Tropical Freeze is way too hard. I couldn't beat the mine cart boss. Hate mine cart levels.

In my opinion, Star Fox Zero is one of the worst games Nintendo ever made.

Super Mario 3-D World is very good, at least.

Breath of the Wild is so long! Too long, really. i spent 65 hours on it and beat it, and I didn't even scratch the surface of all the stuff you could do in that game!

Bowser's Inside Story is one of the best of the Mario RPGs and one of my favorites, second only to Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. I played it again on the 3DS remake earlier this year, but the DS version is just as good.

Oh, I thought you could use any amiibo for it. Well, I guess I'll have to get some Animal Crossing amiibo. I'd rather get the triple pack of Shovel Knight amiibos though.

I realize that the DKC Returns games are hard, but I have to check them out.

I got Star Fox Zero for some flying action. Maybe I should've got Pixar's Planes instead?

I'll rent Breath of the wild and get only a couple hours into it in that week I'll have it. I'll get a sense of what it's like at least. One day, i'll buy it or get a Switch and play it for longer.

I'd didn't know they remade INside Story for 3DS. I'm thinking about getting another 3DS. I miss the one I traded already.

I still need to get through Bayonetta 1 ... and the HBO Spawn cartoon, which has very similar themes, come to think of it.

I played some Bayonetta 1 but didn't stick with it. I think I will now.

I've heard Mario 3D World is good in co-op. Otherwise I didn't think it was that good. felt like a subpar Mario game.

Unlikely that I'll play it in co-op. I'm excited to see what it's like anyway. It was one of the highest rated Wii-U games. I'll probably not get far in it though. I never do in platformers.

Star Fox Zero is good with a few caveats, but amiibo festival is pretty dull and boring. But you got a bunch of good games there. I love 3D World soooo much.

I'm an indiferent platform game player but I always like checking them out. Some of them are really inventive, especially the Mario ones.
