I don't think I have EVER played a Tekken game.
My First Mobile Game, Dev Mode and Others

Microsoft rewards leads me to new places. I have just played my first mobile game, Gears Pop. I also discovered developer mode on Xbox One. And then there are the regular games played, or attmepted to play, as my download speed is so slow that several days wasn't enough to get to play Final Fantasy XV. Details follow.
Gears Pop: So MS rewards asked me to download the game on my phone and get an achievement. It was a great oportunity to see what this phone games thing was all about. I've resisted playing games on my phone because of it being a monstrous distraction. Anything for rewards points though.
Gears Pop is pretty neat. You have pop figures from Gears of War and you fight on a screen ala RTS. You send your characters into battle and they progress up the screen to take out the other side. There is vs. mode and hoard mode. I also joined a "crew" of real players and joined up with them for co-op and vs battles in real time.
You win loot and unlock new pop figures which you can level up by playing the game. It's cool, runs surprisingly well on my very inexpensive Android phone. I've been playing it while waiting for downloads on Xbox One. More of that next.
Final Fantasy XV: The game is just under 80GB and was only 18% done after almost 24 hours. I'm not sure what was wrong but my download speed should have been at least 5MBps. It should've taken 4.45 hours. I was able to look at the menu screen and that's it. I was downloading it for a rewards points weekly challenge but I've only got 'til tomorrow to do it. Looks like it won't even be done by then.
Developer Mode on Xbox One: I suddenly got interested in game development and discovered I can switch my Xbox into dev mode and make games. I have to pay a one time few of $20 to do so, and I'm a little worried I'll brick my Xbox by doing it, but I'm really keen on trying my hand at coding a game. I'd like to do a Wizardry style turn-based RPG. There are so few of those on Xbox. Only Operencia is the only true first-person, turn-based RPG where you move one grid square at a time that I've seen.
Tekken 7: Downloaded it for a rewards points challenge. I played story mode and beat a few characters before getting beat. The challenge was for ranked match wins though, and I'll never get interested enough to get that far. It was neat to see the opening cutscenes and first few battles, though.
EDF 2025: Won the game on Normal for my Wingdiver and Air Raider. I got stuck on level 79 with my Fenser. I got several more levels done on Hard with my Ranger. I've got only two levels left but they are very challenging right at the end of the game. Those last three levels are exceptionally challenging and long. There are 85 levels, not 89 like I thought.
Terraria: Again for rewards points. I needed 1000 resources and got to 261 before getting really annoyed. This game is clearly developed for PC. The UI is so confusing with a controller. It took me forever to figure out how to craft things. For a game doing 2D Minecraft, you'd think the first thing would be to make a super intuitive control scheme. I guess it's more accessible with keyboard and mouse.
Ticket to Ride 2: When I saw Ticket to Ride (without the 2) on Game Pass recently, I thought it was just only only one from Xbox 360. I didn't realize it was actually a kind of sequel. Really it's the original with a new coat of paint and several more expansions, just what I've been wishing for for years. Both Mark and I got back into it in a big way. There is no online mode or leaderboards this time though, which is a real bumber. I just don't do same screen multiplayer anymore.
That's most of my weekend. Sill an afternoon left. Onward.
