I don't know what connects any of these games I played today, but here they are.
Capcom Beat 'em Up Collection: I played Final Fight online but after a while the connection dropped and I got kicked out. So I replayed the whole game solo. I'm constantly stating, while playing, that this game is totally unfair, but after a lot of game time, I started to get how to attack at just the right distance. So there were some screens in which I wrecked house and barely got a scratch. I didn't think that was possible, but practice makes perfect.
F1 2018: I did 20 laps for a rewards quest. This sim controls pretty good. I was actually holding the road and making half decent time on my laps. You start a career by doing practice laps. It's neat to see the inside of one of these F1 cars. The sense of speed is pretty cool too. At one point another car bumped me and I crashed. I just lost a tire. The game shows you a replay like Burnout, which is neat. I almost liked this enough to keep playing after my 20 laps, but sim racers aren't my thing. Plus doing laps for time is like, fairly boring.
Doom ('93): Replaying this after many years. It was funny, because right next to me, my friend Mark was playing Doom Eternal where he just beat the final boss: the oldest Doom and the newest Doom, side by side. I'll say this though, Doom '93 is still darn scary. I got several jump scares while I was playing, frantically shooting as demon dogs pounced on me in the dark. Lovely.
I bought two games on sale today. Castlevania Anniversay Collection and Arcade Classics Anniversay Collection. The Castlevania collection has a lot of Castlevania games. All the old ones through Bloodlines. After reading the review here for Bloodlines, I'm excited to play it. Arcade Classics is just a Konami collection of shooters. I'm especially fond of TwinBee, so even if the rest aren't good, I'll dig this one.
Done day, time to watch more public domain science fiction movies with my friend Laura. We're on Quatermass and the Pit the Tv series right now. It's pretty good.
