Borderlands 3 Event

Revenge of The Cartels event dropped and Mark and I played it co-op several times over.

The event works just like the previous Halloween event. You talk to Maurice the dino on Sanctuary and you go get keys from random enemies in any part of the world. You bring them back to him and he opens up a portal to a new area. This one is a mansion where a boss resides - enemy of Maurice. I can never remember these guys names even after I've played it several times. The important part is, I guess, my own character's development and some of the challenges I found along the way.

The object is to kill that boss, but there are a list of challenges that unlock cosmetic rewards that are fun to go after. There is a puzzle to solve in the mansion, collectibles and lots of enemy specific tasks. I think I've gotten a little more than half of them already. My favorites were finding all the golden toilets and solving the puzzle in the library. As, usual, I'm all about exploration.

In my goal to focus on only Torgue weapons, I've ended up in a pretty good place. I've got a great loadout, and I even respeced my character. Now I don't die as often, and I have some really powerful and fun to use weapons. Following item score is definitely not the best way to go. It's overthinking it. It's better to just choose what you like and find better versions of those items along the way.

Mark and I will likely be playing more of this event until we get all the challenges associated with it. I'm also still doing the Borderlands Science puzzles but at a slower pace. I'm still doing Torgue's 20.

That's a day. Be well.

Oh, I also played a round of Worm W.M.D.. I'm stuck on the pro parachute challenge. I almost solved it though but half the time my parachute wouldn't open. I have no idea way except maybe I let myself fall to far and the speed didn't allow it to open. I sometimes think that the game's just broken, but I'm still searching for a rational reason for it. I'll keep trying it here and there.

Oh, and I played a few levels of Arkanoid DS. The music is pretty awesome. i played solo clear levels. I only did two of them before I got a credit roll. What's up with that?

It's been a long time since I've played Arkanoid DS, but I seem to remember the main mode having a map where you can choose your path in a pyramid setup, similar to how other Taito games work.  Glad you think the music is cool, though.  Hope you keep playing to hear more of it!

Guess what?  I know you like sales, so I wanted to let you know that Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 is free on PS4 and Xbox until May 10.  There's a link to how it works on my Facebook page.

And speaking of sales, today on PS4 I got a bunch of games on sale!  The PS4 Taiko game was only 15 bucks, and Capcom Beat Em Up Bundle and the Konami Collections were ten bucks each, so I got them all!  Five games for under 60 bucks isn't bad!  I'll be writing about those collections in my blogs in the coming weeks!

I'll be playing more of it for sure, but it's been hard to find handheld gaming time right now.

Oh yes! Pac-Man CE2 for free? I'll be getting that this afternoon for sure when I head to my friend's place and my Xbox.

I got Capcom Beat em Up and Castlevania collections on sale. I want that Taiko collection too. I was trying to remember that word, "Taiko", the other day and kept remembering it wrong and couldn't find it.  Also, I think I might get the Contra collection because it was on sale recently too. I've been checking sales every day lately 'cause there's been some good ones.

Well, Borderlands might have its issues like any game, but it seems packed with content.

There is a lot of stuff, but we've played it so much, there's hardly anything to do now except grind for better loot. Mark doesn't mind doing that but I need to have some challenges to go after or new content to explore.

I like that you focused on one brand of weapon. I tend to fall in love with a weapon and refuse to use something else....man a game of Borderlands sounds like fun right now.

Can't go wrong with the cosmetic goodies. They don't add anything but it is always fun to have a different look for your character and weapon.

I had this rocket launcher recently that makes a giant nuke explosion every shot. I kept using it all the time just to watch the mushroom cloud and hear the extended thunder from it.

Borderlands just implemented big head mode last week. That made the different heads you can use mean something. My friend is all dressed up in leopard skins and a giant lion head. It's pretty funny everytime I see it.
