The Dark World of Pirates' Peggles

Peg leg pirates are meaner than regular pirates. Can you blame them?

The Long Dark: This is a survival game on Game Pass I played for a quest reward. I had some trouble with it because it really doesn't help you learn how to craft and create things. It kept telling me to go to the selection wheel, but for the life of me, I couldn't find it on any button or trigger. I managed to make a fire once and then couldn't find the place in the menu system to let me do it again. I could craft matterials, but where to put them all together was not clear. It's an interesting game, though. Maybe oneday I'll give it another go, maybe on another Game Pass Quest and discover how dumb I was today to not figure it out. Oh yeah, you fly a plane that crashes and have to figure out a mystery about a case that your x-girlfriend brought with her. And also find your x-girlfriend and survive the snowy wilderness.

Sensible World of Soccer: This seems to be a soccer management sim I got for free from Games with Gold one week. I was hoping to just kick the ball around before remembering that I don't care for soccer, but it was all menus and watching stats.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse: So I really love the art, design and charm of this Wayforward created series, but I inevitably get frustrated with platformers because they make me repeat sections of the game with precision every time. I know that now makes me ineligible to be an astronaut, but at this point, i don't care. I got to Saliva Island but had to traverse the same section of giant frogs that barf fish and mess up your jumps one too many times.

Peggle 2: Another game full of charm and challenge that I like. I'm on the third section now. Peggle is pretty cool. It's like pinball (with actual bumpers on some levels) and pachinko and maybe some bubble bobble thrown in. There are lots of funny details with the creatures that host your levels: the unicorn farts rainbows, the giant has singing goats in his hair and the yeti exposes a blurred out bum. I like this game a lot.

Too bad you didn't like the Shantae game because Pirate's Curse is one of my favorites.  Right now I'm playing Shantae and the Seven Sirens and working on my review of it.  I really like it so far.  It has fully animated and voiced cutscenes and makes me wish there was a Shantae cartoon!

I really like it. I was probably just in a mood and had no patience. I had to look up a walkthrough for Saliva Island because I didn't realize I could hair-slap that ham and collect it's stink to wake up the dragon. . .  What the heck did I just say?
