A summer day saw me harvesting my fields in my new tractor. Farm Together is really fun and totally addictive. I ended the game session today by planting a lot of cotton which takes 8 hours to grow. That way they'll be ready when I start in again sometime tomorrow. I'll have to think of even longer growing crops to grow while I'm away from my console during the weekdays. Time never stops and neither does this game.
My fields are getting pretty big now and I'm spending more and more time on my tractor. I also furnished my tree house and cooked an egg on my stove with farm fresh produce. I'm making a lot of cider from fruit with the fruit press. I'm not sure what to use it with yet, but I think it's used in cooking stuff. I've been trying to reduce labor by growing banana trees that only get harvested once a year, but which yield more money than apple trees which have to be harvested every season. I made some more sprinkers to automate watering and an animal feeder to make feeding less frequent.
I've finally figured out economics a bit. I have a special field just for the quick growing crops to keep me solvent. I use the sprinkler fields for longer growing, quest related crops. Sprinklers halve the time needed to grow.
I would say my friend and I are really enjoying this game. It's only getting better. I've bought all the fields surrounding my starter one. It's a bit overwelming because that gives you a lot of space.
Also, a random player showed up in my game today. She signed my guest book, harvested some crops and left. I haven't allowed much else in the permissions because I'm so tight with money right now. I don't want anyone spending all my money on 2 day growth crops that I can't harvest. That would be a total griefing move, and I can't help but think it could happen.
I also saw train tracks you can build in the game. I'm hoping for a train too, but so far it seems the tracks are only cosmetic.
Did you know that carrots and lettuce are the quickest and cheapest crops you can grow? I don't know if this is true in real life, but I'd like to know. I'm interesting in real life planting you see. That is all.
