Farm Together, Level 70

I got started on Farm Together on Sunday thinking I was just going to do some maintenace and move on to the Borderlands 3 DLC, but I never finished tweaking my farm. Here are some things I did as I passed farm level 70.

I eliminated all my small, strangely shaped fields and replaced them with 13x13 fields, where ever they would fit. I did this to reduce complexity on the map screen. You can view your entire farm, as if from high above, at any time. If you make fields large and contain one crop type, you see an icon of that crop on the field. This makes it easy to quickly see what is where and whether a particular crop is part of a quest, which will be highlighted orange. The map screen also tells you, through cross-hatching, whether a field is harvestable or not. Where I was once doing everything on the ground, then just monitoring farmhands, now I just sit on the map screen, as if from a blimp floating overhead, and wait for something to change. I guess it's similar to working at a company, rising through the ranks of middle management, and then becoming senior management. What screen view will I get when I'm CEO, I wonder.

I unlocked a music performance stage in the monthly quest challenge. I put it up against a hill next to Diamond Town and surrounded the audience pit with tiki torches. I imagine it as if it was Red Rocks. (There was a big U2 concert there in the 80s I seem to have a solid memory of). You can sit at the keyboard or drum set but no sound happens. There are stage lights moving around at night though. I was hoping it had some functionality like the piano you can use in the houses to earn tickets. Those play short exerpts of public domain tunes. I'm not big on cosmetic items. They're neat, but I'm not thrilled by them.

I've unlocked all the plants and fish. Now I'm trying to get the last of the trees, flowers and animals. You just have to level up certain ones to unlock the others, or raise your farm level high enough.

Diamond Town is improving. In addition to the music arena, I've added Chestnut trees and moved all my bee hives over there. It occured to me  that all the commercial buildings where you sell produce give you diamonds, so I'm thinking of moving them over. What will be left in my orginal town? Just storage silos and a few others. It'll be kind of like a ghost town.

And that's about all. What did you play on Sunday?

I haven't played anything in a week or so. I bought Ni No Kuni Remastered for my Switch, but I haven't touched it yet. I really want to play it though.

That sounds fun. I love Ni No Kuni but I haven't beaten it because I can't seem to master the battle system.

You'd be in trouble if you ever got Animal Crossing. :)

Yeah, this game actually made me think about getting a second Xbox so I could keep up with the quests at home.
