Six Pack of Games

I'm just all over the place with games today, but I spent the most time with God of War 2018.

Blair Witch: Literally did nothing in the game. Just booted it up for weekly rewards. I've played it before and got lost in the forest. I wasn't that interested in solving that problem this time.

State of Decay 2: I had to get 25 zombie kills for a rewards quest. This is like the fourth time I've started this game from the beginning. I really like it, but I moved on once I got the rewards. I'll keep it installed to play again for reals.

Farm Together: Working on my third farm and still running out of money. It's okay though. I just leave it for a while and come back when crops are ready again. I built more asphalt roads this time because you move really fast on them in a tractor.

Day D Tower Rush: While my physical copy of God of War was installing updates, I played this 8 Floor tower defense game I bought months ago. It's exclusive to PS4, but 8 Floor has a bunch of their games on Xbox. It's a fine tower defense game with a dino theme. I like it a lot. They do the Gnomes Garden and other casual, cartoony games.

God of War [2018]: I got farther than the previous two times I've played this but still got stuck on an environment puzzle that wouldn't let me progress without solving it. It was the first challenge when you are on that lake in a canoe. This game looks absolutely amazing and the battle system is very deep and satisfying. I had to get used to the PS style controls. In God of War, you use the bumpers a lot for attacks and the circle button for actions in the world. I'm used to using the "A" button for fighting and actions on Xbox. I kept hitting "x"  in the same position on the PS controller by mistake, but I was getting the hang of it after a while.

Sudden Strike 4: I have a physical copy on Xbox I'm playing. I did some farming while it installed. It's a fun RTS that takes place in WWII. There are several different campaigns related to the different countries. I'm doing Germany first. The controls work well. It's pretty simple to move groups of troups and vehicles around and possition them. I'm only on the third mission so far.

I'm trying to get through my collection of physical games and sell off any I don't like. I want a very lean collection at home of just my very favorite games.

What did you play today?

When I get off work today, I'm spending Halloween night playing Animal Crossing, doing the Halloween event stuff.  I'm dressing up as a hot dog in the game.  No trick or treaters tonight because of COVID, sadly.

I could be doing the Borderlands 3 Halloween content, but it's the same as last year. I'm not sure what I'm doing tonight though.

I played one of the old God of War games and didn't really like it. Just not really my thing. I like Greek myths, but I would be more into an Egyptian or Hindu gods thing than Norse. I think that stuff is a little played out.

Assassin's Creed did the Egyptian thing recently, ancient Greece too. I think they're doing a Viking one this year. I'd love a game set in ancient India or Incan, or Indian (Native American). Anything that begins with an "I" would be better than the usual western stuff of Norse or Greek Gods.

I'm still not in the right mindset to enjoy Dad Kratos trying to kill everything while his kid is behind him. I will eventually get back to playing the game, actually I think I am stuck in the same point you are.

Only thing I actually really played today was Just Cause 4. I got into some battles in the Marvel version of Puzzle Quest but that was all of 5 minutes.

I so want to look up a guide and get past that first area at the lake because the game is so darn gorgeous. I also like using the kid's bow skills to stun enemies so I can then get the glory kill, ala Doom Eternal.
