Game I Played Today

My first task today was to clear as many of the games set up for Quests to earn Game Pass Rewards. I touched on a few others for other reasons.

Untitled Goose Game: Basically, you play as a goose whose object is to mess with the farmer in specific ways. I played this before and didn't quite clear all the quests in the first area, but this time, I did it. The trickiest quest was to get the farmer to change hats. I had to get his hat off his head and hide it. Then he would go put on the other hat. I got an achievement and the weekly rewards quest unlocked as well.

Dirt 4: It's a rally car racing game. It's a little bit too realistic in the car controls for my taste. One mistake and you go end over end. I played it enough to get the required distance traveled for the Game Pass rewards quest. Then I stopped.

Celeste: I played this because it just came to Game Pass and a friend at work told me this was his favorite game. It's definitely a great platformer, but I dislike that genre. I played until it started getting on my nerves which is not very long.

Jackbox Party Pack 4: I tried to play this for rewards points but it is strictly for a group of people in the same room with phones. I used my phone just to see how it works, but I had no one else in the room to play it with me. It's pretty neat, when you have people together in meatspace. I had to give up on getting rewards points for this.

Pillars of Eternity: I just had to defeat five foes in this for rewards but it didn't seem to be working. I thought maybe my AI companions were getting all the kills, so I disabled them and tried doing all the battles solo. I still didn't rack up any kills even though I saw my arrows get kills. I think it's glitched. I might try again later to see if it gets fixed. It was a monthly quest, so I have plenty of time to try it again. It's a Baldur's Gate type game. It's good too.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard: I played this a good while. It's pretty sick what happens to your character as you explore this abandoned house in the woods looking for your girlfriend. I just had to find 7 items for the rewards quest and did so pretty quickly, but kept playing until I got brutally killed. It was fun.

Black Desert: This is an action RPG MMO. It came up before in Game Pass Rewards Quests and so I had a character from when I played it last. This time i struggled to follow the main quest and figure out what to do until I had the rewards points. The menu system is very complex and the environment is loaded with other players hacking aways at enemies swarming the fields. It's pretty confusing, but I got the hang of it after a while. I made it to a new cutscene and stopped there. I imagine MS loves to use this game in Game Pass Quests, so i'm sure I'll have to play it again some other time.

Farm Together: I jumped back into my farm briefly to try and harvest anything ready for a quest. Then it was time to stop for the day.

My friend was playing Aragami and got a lot farther than I did. I looked over his shoulder to watch the cut scenes when they happened.

What did you play today?

I'm really glad I got to review Untitled Goose Game.

I heard Celeste was really good, but also really hard, so I skipped out on it.

I just got finished reviewing Jackbox Party Pack 7 and it'll be up in a couple of weeks.  They're great game packs, but yeah, you HAVE to have mutiple people to enjoy them.  Sometimes more than 3!

Celest is hard. I can't stand that repeating a specific jump to get it just right. That's just not my way of working on a problem.

I really like Pillars of Eternity. It's easier on a computer with a mouse though. But I really like it... I wish I played it more.

It definitely feels like a PC game. I like it a lot. I'm going to play it again just to create a new player. So many variations on a character type. It's neat.

For Dirt you can adjust the settings to make it more forgiving. Once you have it suited to how you want to play, it's really a lot of fun. Love those Codemasters racing games.

I love the idea of rally car racing. I just need one that's not telling me how to turn all the time. I want to play an old school one that's super arcady.
