I purposely stay away from games like Terriaria and Minecraft because I'm afraid I'll get too addicted to them! I'm already bad enough as it is with Animal Crossing!
Terraria is the GOAT..

Or not. I don't believe there can be one best of anything, but when I start a game of Terraria, I want to play nothing but Terraria. It's like everything we imagined we wanted in a side scroller as kids.
I've played on and off for years, but I never actually cleared it. I'm aiming to do that now.I made a small world and I'm playing on the normal difficulty to expedite the process. It's going smoothly and I'm finding all sorts of good items. I have a gun that shoots bees that act like homing bullets , along with three summoned helpers, and we're burning down bosses like crazy. And I can fly short distances and run very fast. This game has possibly the greatest collection items and equipment ever put in a game. I also have a grappling hook made of rubies, a sword that calls down falling stars on enemies, web shooters, and grenades that unleash bees instead of shrapnel. My last character fought with books of spells, magic wands, and a yo-yo. For the most part I'm playing a "ranger" build though. Guns and bows, the summons are just to make things die a little faster.
Because I want to get the game cleared sooner rather than later, I'm not spending a lot of time on the creative aspect. Just building buildings with whatever I have at hand to house the NPCs, aesthetics secondary. 90% functionality here, no distractions. Last time I got too caught up in making a wizard tower and lost track of where I was in the game
When I'm done I'm either going to go straight into Expert difficulty on a larger world and build a mega base, or I'm considering gitting gud at and clearing Metal Slug 1-3, also games full of personality Or Donkey Kong Countrys, to continue the theme of riding animals.
