A Blog, I Guess

Haven't been into blogging at the moment. But here's a quick update on what I've been doing gamewise. 

Playing mostly Dragon Quest XI S. My buddy Mark is also playing it, and after nearly quitting trying to beat that Kraken monster boss, he's now considerably ahead of me. Why? I've been continually distracted by Game Pass Rewards quests and trying to clear my backlog of games installed on my internal hard drive. This brings me to a new purchase. 

I bought an external hard-drive for Xbox One. It's the cheapest one I could get, a Seagate 1TB drive, but it's just what I needed. I can now download all the massive games I need for Game Pass Rewards Quests and still have my current favorites installed. My internal drive is almost totally reserved for Game Pass now. Like this week, I had to download Batman Arkham Knight and Destiny 2. Together that's nearly 100GB on a 500 GB internal drive. When the new monthly game quests come along soon, I'll probably install two, three, or even four games that will very likely hit 100GB or more. Like I had to install FFXV last month among others. 

I'm also playing Forza Horizon 4 (new content and season goals), Farm Together (as always) and the original Torchlight hoping to catch up and finish it, Torchlight II and then III. 

Additionally, I'm checking out the cloud service on the Game Pass app. I've tried several games streaming on my phone. The controls that overlay the screen really get in the way, so I may try and synch my controller and see how that works. 

Well then. Happy 12 days of Christmas. This is day 2 on Saturday. Keep the Christmas spirit alive all the way to Jan 5 and the 12th day.

I have a 2TB Seagate external HD for my PS4 and it just serves as a reminder how spoiled I've been this gen. I need to do some Marie Kondo with my games.

Well, just remember to sincerely thank each game you get rid of and remember to only keep those games that spark joy.

I think getting an external hard drive will definitely improve your gaming life. I upgraded by PS4 drive to a 2TB drive a year ago, and it's been great. Not having to worry about space is a relief. 

I haven't played DQ for a while, but I'm right up to the point where you're supposed to fight the kracken. Got to get back to it.

My friend is way ahead of me now in DQXIS and I'm finding it hard not to look at his screen and get tons of spoilers. I just beat a giant eagle-thing for an orb. I think I need one more.

I wish I had time to play the new Dragon Quest game.  I would play it totally in 16-bit mode, though.

It's amazing to me that you can play the whole game in 2D - how much work that must've cost them. I'm leaving the 2D to the Tinkleton (Twinkleton? I forget the name) levels. I've found a lot of Pastwords but haven't gone back there yet.

I like "Tinkleton."  Sounds like a fancy name for the bathroom.  "Pardon me, I have to use the Tinkleton."

I was looking at the very place in the game today and still called it Tinkleton. I apparently don't see the real name anymore. It's like, my characters have to hit the head sometime and go to Tinkleton, but really it's where 3D becomes 2D.

Blogging is a tough commitment. I've been impressed with your consistency. I haven't been playing as many different things since Octopath is so long. I hope I can get that done in another month or so. I realized this morning that next month is blog-a-day Surprised

I've been jumping around across so many games, it's hard to keep track of it all. It becomes a lot of work to catalog them or to comment on them all. I blame Game Pass mostly but also because I want to play so many different things. 

Oh blog-a-day. I had forgotten. I'll have to think of something.
