They have yearly bowling games, too? How different can a bowling game be from year to year?
Played a Lot Today

I always start by looking at the weekly rewards on Xbox. This week I figured out how to complete challenges on Bing. Then I checked the sales and almost bought Civ VI because it was just under $20. Then I went into Game Pass rewards and played the weekly game challenges. Finally, I made some progress in a few old games, then starting my bowling simulation play, and finally got back to Dragon Quest XI. Phew. It was a full day.
Dead By Daylight: I've played this 5v1 online horror game before but played it again for a Game Pass rewards quest. I had to heal 3 people. It was a bit tricky because people run all over the place running from the killer. But I eventually learned to stalk the killer and watch for his victims and save them. Pretty fun, actually.
No Man's Sky: Given that I named Journey to the Savage Planet my Goty of 2020, I should love this, and I sort of do but it's just complicated enough to annoy me after a while. I repaired my ship, warped to the next planet, and started fixing equipment to enable me to mine tougher materials. I was just beginning to feel overwhelmed and uncertain as to where to find the next material and whether I had to process it in any way when the game froze on me. That was my cue to stop because I had the rewards quest done from the second I started it anyway. It's a very cool game though. I wouldn't mind playing it again.
Farm Together: I'm back in there again building my farm little by little. I have 13 farmhands at work now and the fields prepped for the last two that I'm allowed. I've also made 100 crop yield fields on every available spot on the holdings I have. I'm just knocking out quests and trying to level my farm as fast as possible to unlock new buildings that will ultimately get me diamonds to expand the farm further. I'm still after that last achievement of owning all the fields. I'm doing much better at this, my third, farm. I rarely run out of money. The key was to keep expanding, not limit production like I did before. Maybe a lesson for something in the real world?
Forza Horizon 4: I'm mainly trying to level up my Special 7 (I think it's called something else 7) meter to 10. I'm at 9 now. This is just done by playing user-created challenges. Most of them are incredibly annoying because they sometimes put barriers in the road to mess you up or enormous jumps that wreck you, but sometimes someone creates a pretty cool one like the one where I had to jump an AMC Gremlin over a river. Then, as I do regularly, played the Eliminator mode for some random achievemnts I never got. This is basically Forza Horizon meets Fortnight. 50 or more players are dropped into a map with an ever closing perimeter with the object of beating each other in impromptu races. Win and you get a better car to go after the rest of them. Today I got eliminated on my first race. Too bad. I only do it once a game session.
PBA Pro Bowling: My friend, who I play games with regularly, was playing the 2021 version of this today, so I jumped in too with the previous version of the game I bought last week. I wish I knew there was a new version. Anyway, I played it in simulation and arcade mode and settled in in arcade mode because it was a bit frustrating in sim mode. It's a good bowling game though with real players and championships to play through. After I played through the first regional tournament and beat a few pros, I went to youtube and watched some highlights of 2020 tournaments on the official PBA youtube station. I saw many of the players who are in the game. Kind of neat. I wish I could get back into bowling, but I need to lose some weight. Last time I played I nearly sprained my knee because I was putting too much weight on it. I used to be on a team way back when. You can also play competitively into your 60s. One of the current pros is that age. So there's hope for me yet.
Dragon Quest XI S: Dove back in and played a Tickington level. That's a 2D mini-quest. I got a lot of random encounters and leveled several times. Most of my magnificent 7 are level 32 now. Then I quickly returned to Puerto Valor to check out the casino and the book that I can win which will give me the last piece of the bunny suit I need for a side quest. I ran out of time in the day to do anything about it. The last time I was in there I lost my shirt, so I need to figure these one-armed bandits out.
Well, that's a day. Game liiiiiife! (Borderlands 3 reference that nobody will get)
