BaD 7: Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy

So with the mention of Lego games in a post here, I thought I ought to get back to my plan of playing every single Lego game to completion. It's a big task. I have 24 games on my list. Some I've played before but didn't complete like Lego The Hobbit. This one, Lego Star Wars II I've actually finished before but within the Lego Star Wars Complete Saga. I figure, since I somehow own Lego Star Wars II on Xbox One, I'd start (or restart) here.

Lego Star Wars II came out in 2006 after the first Lego Star Wars which comprised the second trilogy of movies. Together they comprised The Complete Saga that came out in 2007 and which I completed 100% sometime after, probably a few years later when I first discovered Lego games.

Lego Star Wars II is a wonderfully fun game with lots of adorable slapstick humor, mad collecting, and a few puzzles. I finished the first of three movie's levels last weekend in a fairly short amount of time but I by no means found all the collectibles which will require unlocking more characters that have abilities that can get me into new areas and break currently unbreakable objects. Once I run through all the stories of the three movies, I'll go back in free play mode and try and find everything. It's just simple fun and I'll do it in short bursts.

Traveler's Tales is a pretty great developer. This was their second Lego game. Before Lego, they did the Toy Story games, some Sonic games like 3D Blast, a host of kids movie tie-in games (especially Pixar movies), and Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of the Cortex. They are just darn good devs but I wonder sometimes if they don't get tired of Lego, which they seemed tied to forever now.

You know, I once played with a rando online and checked out her list of games. She had completed to 100% a large number of Lego games and very little else. I thought that was kind of interesting. I don't actually want my list of completed games to be like that, but I wouldn't mind a few more 100% done games.

I've played and reviewed most of the Travellers Tales LEGO games out there.  The only ones I didn't review were some of the first ones, like the first Star Wars and Indiana Jones games.  I also didn't review LEGO The Hobbit, but I didn't play it either.  Nor did I play the second half of the LEGO Harry Potter games (they split them into two initially).  But as the years progressed, I've grown my relationship better with the LEGO games publisher, so I get to review pretty much every LEGO game now.

That's cool. I think their last one was the Star Wars collection of all 9 movies/games. I wonder what they'll do next?

I honestly forget these started three generations ago now.

Lego just keeps on going.

Weird coincidence today. A patron at my library asked me to help them and proceeded to tell me every darn thing about Star Wars including specific minor characters you could create in the character maker in Lego Star Wars III and some special code you used to get to download another very specific character with a significant backstory I never heard before. I mean, can someone get a Ph.D. in Star Wars lore, because this kid must've had one.

I'm sure there's a program out there for him.

He should just do a podcast. He could probably ramble along for hours.
