Just a day of gaming with the usual titles of the last few weeks. I'll break it down.

Wii: Sakura Wars, So Long My Love: I've been playing until the save comes up. I haven't battled in a while. I've been mostly running all around NYC talking to different characters. I'm about to start a mock legal battle with Cherion over the future of Harlem. It's beginning to feel like a TV show to me, with each time I play being an episode. I hope I get back to the battles soon.

Xbox MS Rewards and Game Pass Quests: None because my Game Pass app wouldn't activate the downloads I selected during the week. I'm not sure why because it worked before. So I had to start the downloads for the weekly and monthly quests today. FIFA was first, and it's big, so it didn't complete in time. Tomorrow though.

Farm Together: I usually play until I fill up my quest queue, upgrade a productivity machine and my warehouse, buy a new plot of land (I think 24 more to go), and fill up any empty fields. This took longer than I expected. I ran out of tickets to pay for all the farmhands and some of them stopped working. I started building a new house so I can install more ovens to bake me more tickets. I also discovered there's a limit to how many fish a farmhand can fish. It's something around 800. I restructured the lake to make it more compact. I also got unicorns from the monthly quest which I have to feed and harvest myself because the farmhands won't touch them. Not sure why. I guess they're freaked out by them.

Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy: I did some extra missions for the first movie (A New Hope) I'd finished last week. It was a timed challenge to do the whole film's worth of levels in 1 hour or better. I came in around 1hr 15 min. I moved on to movie two (Empire Strikes Back) and got through the Dantooine level, which is number 4 of 6 I believe. I got an achievement which means I didn't get this far last time I played the game some years ago.

Dragon Quest XI: Didn't get to it but watched my friend play in spare moments. He is way, way ahead of me. He's beaten the main boss and still, there is more. I feel like I will probably stop playing not too long from now out of fatigue. I can't maintain my interest in a game much past the 90-hour mark and I'm at 70 right now.

Oh, that's a day.

I'm about 35 hours into DQ11 right now. Going strong for the moment.

What is with the pace of the dialog in cutscenes? I swear they talk very slowly.

I rarely stay with a game past the 35 hour mark.  In my opinion, 20 to 25 hours is a good length for a game.  The last two games I spent more than that were Breath of the Wild (65 hours) and Ys 8: Lacramosa of Dana (45 hours).  Of course then there's also Animal Crossing, but I don't want to tell you how many hours I've spent on that.

I'm almost finished with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which has taken me about 25 hours or so to beat.  And I just started Ys 9: Monstrum Nox.  It's the first big game of 2021 I've been wanting to play.  I'm enjoying it so far, which is good since this coming week we're supposed to get bad freezes here in Texas and I might be stuck at home.  As mentioned earlier, the last Ys game took me 45 hours to beat, so I may be at this one for a while, too.

I agree with 20-25 hours. Most solo games start to get to me eventually even if I like them. Ones with multiplayer seem to go much longer.

I bought DQ XI this month. Another one on the pile of freaking huge RPGs to play!

I've never finished a DQ game. They just wear me out.

I played DQ1 on my phone (surprisingly good phone game that can be played one-handed!) and DQ4 on the DS. Neither was horribly long as I recall. I think that started with 7 Yell

I played DQ1 on NES several times but never beat it. I played one of the DQ remakes for 3DS and barely scratched the surface of it. Both those games stopped me in various frustrating ways. I did play a lot more of DQVIII on PS2 years ago. Just like now with DQXI, my friend and I were playing it in tandem and he finished it while I got burnt out around the 90 hour mark. I may yet get more time with DQXI though.
