Those all look interesting. Good picks.

Oh boy, oh boy, it's comics day again! I found some good ones this time. I even had some Hope's Cookies too afterward. It's been a while since I did that. I was a little bit afraid of the sugar rush, but gladly it didn't happen. So let's see what I got as well as my progress with Doctor Strange Epic Collection Vol. 4.
The Witcher: Fading Memories #1: I was curious about the Witcher comics and saw this recent issue on the back issue shelf. Apparently, Geralt is dealing with a dearth of monsters to fight in his world and it's giving him ennui. He even takes up fishing in order to break the boredom. But there are monsters left and soon they find him. He goes to save a town from them but there's something mysterious going on with the local magician. I'll find out next week what that is when I pick up Issue #2. I am really liking this comic. It has a dark and brooding atmosphere with a touch of horror, such a delicious combination.
Young Hellboy #1: This is very new this week. I'm so glad Mike Mignola is still doing Hellboy comics. This is the early days of Hellboy when he is still a kid under the protection of Prof. whose name I forget. They are traveling to a dig site in South America just after WWII. Of course, mayhem and mystery happen to them almost immediately and they are forced to fight for their lives. They are aided by an interesting character from a previous Hellboy and the BPRD series and the issue leaves you in great anticipation of #2. I'm glad to be back on a new series of Helloby.
King in Black #1: I had no idea what this was about when I looked at #4 on the new bookshelf this week, but it intrigued me with a giant dark knight on the cover that reminded me of an old fantasy hero of mine Elric of Melbourne wielding his sword Stormbringer. Instead of getting #4, I went and found issue #1 on the back issues shelf and read that. I was surprised to find this is an Avengers story concerning Knull, the creator of the symbiotes that make up Venom's suit. What's happening? Knull has amassed a huge amount of symbiotes he's made into different forms and is trying to conquer all of Earth as part of his long-standing gripe with the Celestials. The Avengers, including Doctor Strange and Venom, are trying to stop him at all costs. At the back of this first issue is a timeline of events in the Knull story, history of the symbiotes, and descriptions of Knull's creations. This was very helpful to me because this is the first I've heard of this character. I enjoyed the issue a lot and will try to catch up with issues 2-4 in the next few weeks.
Doctor Strange #9 (1975): I'm making more progress on the Epic Collection, Volume 4. This was issue 9 which came out in 1975. I was surprised to see P. Craig Russel on illustration duties. I love his recent work and thought he was a relative newcomer. Apparently, he's an old dog. Anyway, this issue seems to wrap up a storyline where Doctor Strange battles Dormamu, his sister, and her ex-lover, father of his current disciple. There is large epicocity in this issue as universal forces are strained to the breaking point because Strange is battling with forces larger than nature. I'm happy to say Doctor Strange is victorious with the help of his disciple and a new story will commence with issue #10, which I'll save until next week.
That is all.
