BaD 19: What I May Be Playing This Weekend

My new thing lately is to look down the list of new releases and go back in time until I find something I'd like to try. I can play anything on PS4 or Xbox One if it's library rentable, on Game Pass, or just cheap enough to buy. If it's too pricey, I just put it on my wish list for later. This isn't all though. I have Game Pass Rewards to gather and several games I've been playing for months that I like to keep up with. So let's break it down.

First, Game Pass Quest games. I've done the monthly games for February but there are two new weekly games. The first is Titanfall 2. I've been wanting to get deeper into this game for a while now, so this is the perfect opportunity. I'm sure I'll satisfy whatever the quests ask of me quickly, but I'm going to keep playing as long as it's fun, and I expect it to be fun 'til the end. Then there is Dragon Quest XI S, which I've been already playing, so that's an easy one. What I'm supposed to do in it is uncertain because it's worded vaguely. I think that means I'll get the rewards points by just starting the game. In any case, I'll be playing more than what's required for sure. I'm already 75 hours deep into it.

Now, last weekend I tried a bunch of things like Little Nightmares ('cause LN 2 just came out), Haven (it's on Game Pass but I found it not to my liking), Control ('cause the Ultimate Edition came out and it's on Game Pass. I'll likely play more of this next), I downloaded the remaster of Yakuza 3 (on Game Pass and I'll try this after Control), I rented Cyberpunk 2077 (I played it for several hours. Very interesting but I got killed by a swarm of cops just for getting in the way of a pedestrian with my car. WTF!), Call of the Sea (played it for a few hours too but got stuck on a puzzle I couldn't solve) and finally returned to try and complete Dragon Quest XI, this was out on Xbox on Dec 4, 2020, which is as far back as I got last week. I'm always going to stop at DQXI probably because it just never ends.

But, I do have a few others that I'm still playing on the side, so to speak, and those are Farm Together (I just play until I run out of money and then leave it for another day) and Lego Star Wars II (I finished the story missions last week and now I'm going to try and find everything).

Phew! So let's review.

1. Titanfall 2
2. DQXI
3. Control
4. Yakuza 3
5. Farm Together
6. Lego Star Wars II

Now, this is not including anything that might come up between myself and my friend. We have been playing PBA Bowling 2021 against each other regularly. I don't know what he's going to be playing, but it may interest me enough to play that. I'm also thinking about golf a lot this week and the upcoming baseball season. I'd like to get Super Mega Baseball 3 and try out RBI Baseball 2021 as well. I don't know what is good in golf. I'll have to research that.

Fun stuff. Love me some vidya games.

I just finished a play session of the FF7 remake. I have mixed feelings about the game, but I want to finish it. I hit 53 hours in DQ11. The end is in sight, but still far away i think.

My friend is well over a hundred hours now with no end in sight. I am about to fight a big, should be game finishing, fight but I know from my friend that there is plenty more to do.

Dragon Quest XI S is really stuffed with content, isn't it?

I was looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077 until I heard about the problems it had. But then again, Outer Worlds on Switch turned out much better than I expected, so maybe this would to?

I'm almost offended by how much there is because a game's supposed to rise to a great ending and then be done except for maybe more side missions. I'm watching my friend go way past where you'd think the game would end. I'm exhausted just watching him.

Ummm ... have you played any of the newer Yakuza games? Don't get me wrong, 3 is still Yakuza and has some of my favorite characters in it, but it is *rough* by today's standards, especially when compared to the Kiwami remakes, 0, 6 and 7.

I played some of Kiwami 0. 3 does seem dated in graphics and gameplay but it's still fun.
