April Games

I didn't notice any new releases all that interesting to me in Jan, Feb, and March this year but I saw several for April. So I thought I'd share them here.

Outriders:

As soon as I saw developer People Can Fly attached to this game, I was really excited. I've loved everything they've done from Painkiller, to Bulletstorm to Gears of War Judgment. Outriders is a third-person game where you have projectile weapons and also superpowers. There are also role-playing elements. The trailer suggests a vast open-world as well. I'm doubly happy too because it will release on Xbox's Game Pass which means I'll be playing it very soon after it releases for no new money.

MLB The Show 21:

Tatis! Finally, the premier baseball sim will be on Xbox. It'll be on PS4/5 as well as usual. I'm excited to try it even though I prefer more arcade-style baseball games like Super Mega Baseball. This version will allow you to create and share your own ballpark. That's pretty cool. I'll probably rent it from my library as I'm sure they will get a copy. I'll likely buy Super Mega Baseball 3 around the same time.

New Pokemon Snap:

It's finally here, a new Pokemon Snap! What has it been, 20 years or more since the N64 game? I'm thrilled and want a Switch even more now. I see there is a photo editor in this one and the ability to share photos. Pretty sweet! Now, do I get that heart valve fixed or get a Switch. Such choices. haha (not really with a heart issue, phew).

Now that's a good Spring fling of gaming.

I am totally stoked for New Pokemon Snap.  The original was a special game to me because it was one of the only games I reviewed for the newspaper that I got a front page tagline for.  I can even remember my tagline title: "Smile and Say Pikachu!"  And the game was fun, too.  It was made by HAL Labs, who also make Kirby and Smash games.  So they're one of my favorite companies.  They're not in charge of New Pokemon Snap, but my number one favorite game company is:  Namco!  I've already got the new game preordered and everything.  I may even write a blog around the game's release where I talk about my favorite Pokemon spin off games.  It'll be at the end of April before I write and post that, though.  Right now it's just an idea rolling around in my head.

That's great. I played Pokemon Snap way back then and really liked it. It was one of my favorite N64 games. I'll be looking forward to your blog when you write it.

I wonder how long the new Snap will be.

It seems the goal in games now is endless, so I guess that.
