I Slew a Slew of Games Today

Not really slew them but played them and none of them for very long actually, but whatever, I enjoyed them. Here's the lot.

Dragon Age Inquisition: Played for a weekly quest on Game Pass. I had to complete two objectives I think it was. I really enjoyed this. I chose a giant character with curly horns and made him a mage. I felt later that this was a mismatch, but at least it was unique. I threw some spells around, messed up a lot of enemies, and joined a party of AI players. I like how you can pull back and give orders to anyone in your group. I didn't experiment with it though, not yet. I left the game installed after getting the weekly quest because it deserves more of my time later.

Ryse: Son of Rome: Another weekly Game Pass quest and I finished it pretty quickly by just defeating enemies. I kept playing though because I liked it. You are a Roman fighting a losing battle against barbarian invaders. The battle system is pretty great. You attack and parry until you see an icon above the enemy's head and then can activate an execution sequence. The enemy blinks the colors of the buttons and if you do it right you get various rewards depending on what you have selected on the d-pad previously. Pretty bloody satisfying. I made myself stop though in order to at least make some progress on other games. I kept it installed.

NieR Automata: I tried again to get the monthly quest by doing a few more missions in the friendly robot town. Nada. So I watched a walkthrough where someone figured out a cheat code to open up debug mode and get the quest done. Apparently, you have to be in control of the second character (B9 or something?) to hack enemies and disable them. The game doesn't let me switch to him. Maybe it does sometime later on? I didn't want to spoil the game by unlocking debug mode, so I just stopped. I kept it installed. It's growing on me.

Octopath Traveler: I got wrecked in the first big fight with another teacher when you play as the educator. Man, they don't let you build up to it do they? I love the art style of this though.

Falconeer: I played several missions and then got to one where you have to return to a particular island. I flew around this objective over and over and it wouldn't let me return. Not sure what I was doing wrong. This game does feel a lot like that old game Crimson Skies. I detest it though when the enemy stays behind you and you end up flying in circles trying to find them. No, I say, just no.

Lego Batman: I cleared levels 2 and 3 and got a few more suits and vehicles. The Batcave is pretty cool to be in. You've got your Batmobile, bat boat, and bat plane ready to go; a Batman's dream come true.

Destiny 2: I was really getting into this. I returned to a character I created probably a year ago and got reacquainted with the controls very fast. It's Bungie's Halo controls after all; nothing new to learn there. I completed a few campaign missions and didn't want to stop but I had to. I'm looking forward to playing more. Still installed and the biggest file on my hard drive.

Farm Together: The Muffin, Fish and Cheese restaurants are all open and churning out meals for my farmhands. Now I just need some entertainment for them; gotta build up downtown for some happenin' weekends off. They never really take a day off but I can imagine it can't I? I think this game's going to my head. I've got 16 more lands to buy.

In Octopath Traveler I started with the hunter lady because she looked tough and strong.

Of course you did. I had to start as the teacher and get beaten by a fellow teacher. I think it was a fight over tenure. That always happens.
