I couldn't resist a quick chat on my comics reading and console-setup. Here goes.
I have discovered Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. character.
I got the recent ongoing comic MODOK: Head Games and absolutely loved it. It's hilarious as it's all about head-strong MODOK having a nervous breakdown. He gets Iron Man to help him and they crash an evildoer auction in disguise as part of the deal he makes with Iron Man. Those two working together is hilarious. I'm a total MODOK nut. On the subsequent Wednesday, I collected and read every single instance of MODOK. I also learned about his worst enemy Gwenpool and read her comics too. The Gwen-thing in Marvel is a strange one. There are Spider-Gwen and Gwenom but these are different Gwens than Gwenpool. Gwenpool's "power" is that she knows she's in a comic and knows everyone's secret identity and weaknesses. She comes from the real world where she is a comics nut. She's okay but I'm still all about MODOK. He's generally a single-minded killing machine but in Head Games he starts remembering a family he once had and being a good father. I'm waiting for issue 4 to wrap this story up.
I dumped my OG Xbox project for the moment and designated my friend's place as the Xbox lair and my own apartment as the Playstation lair. I have three recent games listed exclusively for PS4 that I want to check out: SagaFrontier Remaster, Star War Republic Commando (I guess remastered too), and Oddworld Soulstorm. I'll see if I can find time for it but this all makes me think, "what will be the Nintendo lair?". I need a third living arrangement I think. Anyone got a trailer home I could rent?
I learned about MODOK from Marvel vs. Capcom 3. That game series is where most of my Marvel knowledge comes from. He's a playable fighter in that one. In that same game I also learned about She-Hulk. I decided she would be my favorite Marvel character even though I don't have a good reason why.
I played the original SaGa Frontier on PSOne. That game was a hot mess.
I played as MODOK in some game, maybe that one. It's what made me check out the comic. I saw the female Thor in the Gwenpool comic I just read. I wonder if you'd like her.
Too bad because SagaFrontier Remastered looks so gorgeous in the trailer.
There's a female Thor? I don't remember that in any of the movies. Although there was one Valkyrie lady in one of the Thor movies who was kind of cool and strong (but also grumpy). That wouldn't be it, would it?
There is Valkyrie but there is also a Thor who is a lady. She just appeared in a MODOK comic I just read and MODOK falls for her. Can you believe that?
You know what Valkyrie I like? The one from Namco's The Legend of Valkyrie.
That game looks familiar like I might have played it on Namco Museum Vol. 5.
Well that's where it was and the only way you could play it in the US. Valkryie has made lots of cameos in other Namco games, though.
Hey did you know there's a MODOK animated cartoon coming? I think it's gonna be on Hulu though, not Disney, because it's going to be more adult. I'm not sure about that though. But the show IS coming.
I just saw this on youtube. I've been looking for the Pop figure lately. I know there must be one.
I think Modok is in one of the Lego Marvel games. Also I may have his figure in Lego. I know it came in one of the sets and I can't recall if I own that set.
Also wasn't Republic Commando an original XBox game? I can't remember if it was on multiconsoles but I do remember it being on XBox.
I learned today that MODOK was an end-level boss in Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I don't remember that when I played it but now I want to play it again to see. I also saw several action figures of MODOK at the end of one of my comics so there's more figures out there then just the Funco Pop ones. Got to play those Lego games to see him in them.
Republic Commando was an OG Xbox game. It was Xbox only back then which is weird because now the remaster is just PS4/NS/Windows. The original is backward compatible on Xbox One though. Strange.
