Man, I remember you spending so much time on Borderlands 2! This one have its hooks in you now? We haven't played the third one yet. We bought it (super cheap) but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Got back into the Season 2 DLC. I finished the story missions solo and then Mark and I did the Arms Race mission and then some tasks on the daily challenge list that's new to B3.
The story mission was fun. You go to various locations in the game to solve mysteries for one of the characters who is recording it as a podcast. It's a joke on podcasting and true crime stories. At the end, it was also a quest to discover more information on a character who was killed off in the main story. Man, I just can't remember the finer details at the moment. Maybe too much to drink at dinner tonight. But it wasn't too long and wasn't too difficult either. However, my friend Mark jumped in at the end to help me finish off a boss. These bosses are just damage-sponges that take a long time to whittle down. I find it less of a challenge than a chore, so I was glad to have Mark in there to help.
After that we dove in with a third random person to play the Arms Race mode. This is a new location where there's a storm that closes in on you until you are forced to jump down a shoot and fight a boss. You start with no equipment at all and have to find it on the way. You also don't get to use your special skills. We got killed a bunch at first until we learned to fight carefully until we found some good equipment. Then it wasn't a problem and we beat the boss. After the reward of loot, you can send 6 items back to your bank on Sanctuary. The rest get removed once you leave the area. I liked it. There are a few achievements associated with this area I'd like to get, so I'll be playing more of it down the road.
Finally, there are new challenges, both daily and weekly. Rewards are keys that can be spent to unlock new gear both useful and cosmetic. We rushed through the daily challenges because I had to leave for a family dinner. It's stuff like beating a certain boss or making kills of a particular enemy type or with weapons of a particular manufacturer. Fun, but there aren't any achievements associated with those, just more loot.
That's about all for today. More next weekend.
