Done Broke The Game

My friend bought some modded weapons for us both to use in Borderlands 3 and now we are virtual gods running around with impunity on True Vault Hunter, Mayhem 11 difficulty. It's kind of fun, actually, but really makes gear gathering pretty much meaningless. We still had to work to get some of the new achievements, however.

One achievement goal was to smash 50 mysterious eridium piles. I had to look it up because smashing regular eridium piles wasn't doing anything. Turns out, you have to save the artifact you get at the end of the new story missions, equip it, and then you can see the mysterious eridium piles at a very specific location in the game. My friend saved it but I didn't so, I had to reload the missions and do them all again. I only got through 1/4 of it today.

Another achievement goal was to explore all the areas of the Arms Race map. It seemed a bit tricky at first because you have to hunt for weapons before you can explore while a storm closes in and reduces the map space. I thought it would take a while but it didn't because it turns out you don't have to explore everything, just identify each region. I guess we only had one left because one exploratory mission unlocked the achievement.

Through all this, we were using the modded Infinity Gun pistols. They have unlimited ammo and damage around 350 million per shot. The guns sound funny too spraying bullets as they do - like buzz saws, or bug zappers. The graphic looks like the spray of sparks from a welding gun. They explode every enemy instantly and rip bosses in seconds even on the highest difficulty. My friend has a modded shield too which makes him, like The Tick, neigh invulnerable. Only the rare death skull can take his shield down. I'm still looking for a better one within the game, but it hardly matters when I can get a Second Wind at will.

The other achievement goal will not be helped by all this though because I have to do it within Arms Race where you can't bring your equipment. It's not hard though. It's just for transporting 100 pieces of equipment from Arms Race to your Bank on the spaceship Sanctuary. It'll require 10 or so runs of the mission.

In related news, I downloaded some new Games with Gold freebies: Dungeon 3 and Tropico 4; and two Game Pass quest games: Beholder and Walking Dead: A New Frontier. I also downloaded Fallout 76 for a rewards quest. Maybe I'll get to them this weekend.

Also, I had to reconfigure remote phone access to my console. In the course of that, I had to update my controller. First time for me, updating through a Bluetooth collection. Exciting, but as of today, the remote access still doesn't work. I used to download Game Pass games remotely during the week. Maybe this week, though, now that I've fixed the settings. Probably the recent dashboard update messed it up. We'll see. I am excited about the possibility that my controller might now sync with my phone. The settings they used to have for this were convoluted, and I didn't follow through with the setup. I think this update might make it work now easily. I'll have to try it sometime.

Well, that's a day.

I remember when I was a kid and playing Privateer 2: The Darkening on my PC, I found out there was a code you could enter into the console, "Nuke", which would destroy every ship around you. Needless to say it broke the game, although it didn't solve every problem, because if you had an escort mission, or friendly ships around, it would destroy them too. Laughing

I find a god mode sort of fun for a little while but then it gets really boring because nothing in the game really matters anymore. You don't have to hunt for gear to use strategy to survive or anything. My friend, though, is endlessly amused by it and it looking for more god-gear to buy on ebay. To each his own, I guess.
