I remember that Retro Atari Classics not being that great. They took old Atari games and gave them graffiti styled graphics and I think they looked pretty ugly.
Too Many Games Con Last Sunday

This is a games convention local to me here just outside Philadelphia, PA. It’s usually in a big expo center but this time it was in a Hotel with very limited space. There were no celebrities, no stage for a cosplay contest, and a very limited room for game playing with no arcade cabinets, only consoles. But it was better than nothing. I bought some stuff shown below.
Super Mario Maker New 3DS: I miss my 3DS so much that I picked this up almost immediately. It was literally the only 3DS being sold in the whole place. I wanted the XL version I used to have, but 3DS’s seem so hard to find at a reasonable price recently, I grabbed the first one that wasn’t priced through the roof. I’m thrilled it’s the New 3DS - better processor and extra buttons. Woo!
I got a game too, not great a great one but something (I wasn’t paying $50 for the Fire Emblem games I saw unless they were Echoes, and they weren’t): Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure. It’s the only one in the series on 3DS that’s a different experience from the console versions. It’s a 2D platformer if I remember right.
I also got several cases. I love branded cases or bags for systems. I especially dig the DS/3DS ones that have pockets for game carts because I have so many lose carts in my collection. All three have cart holders.
I got a few DS games. Retro Atari Classics is one I have already but not in the box, and PopCap’s Bejeweled Twist looked interesting. I’d like to pick up some other PopCap games that made it to DS like Bookworm.
Two OG Xbox games I acquired: one was Links 2004 which my friend convinced me I didn’t own. He and I played it not too long ago and we both loved it. Too bad I couldn’t get into another XSN Sports series, Top Spin. I had high hopes for that one. Maybe I’ll try it again sometime. The other game was the first Burnout. I seem to lose games out of my collection from time to time, so I needed this one again. Why can’t someone bundle the first three Burnout games, remastered, for today?
One Xbox 360 game I purchased for cheap (all the games I got were very cheap) was Pure. It’s part of a two/pack with Lego Batman. I used to own it but it went awol. I had to get it again for Pure because I really liked the demo I played way back when. It’s an ATV off-road racer with great controls, a key element for me in any racing game. I almost got the PS3 version because it was just Pure and looked cool, but I generally only get exclusives for PS3.
