Halloween I played as much Island Saver as I could get through. I finished the 3 islands you get for free and bought (for $5) the first DLC island full of dinos and finished that too. There is one more island, a fantasy themed one that's another $5. I'll probably get that next weekend and finish it. Then I might go for a complete achievement run. I still need the last collectible on each island. It's always one left when you finish a level, isn't it.

Island Saver is similar to a game like Slime Rancher but simpler. I think it works very well though. I came across only one moment where I got stuck in the environment. Even then, the game, after a brief interval of being stuck, respawned me with no cost just steps away like it does anytime you miss a jump and drown or burn up in lava.

Its mostly an easy game but fun. I like cleaning up the plants and feeding the animals. Also fighting off these goo monsters that show up from time to time. You just shoot them with water and they dissolve.

You can ride certain animals as well which give you access to more areas of the islands. Ultimately you have to get a silver and gold key on each island to get to the exit which is usually placed somewhere only an animal ride can get to. You ride elephants, a gorilla, a tiger, and other ones. In the dino map, you ride a T-rex and several other dinos like a Teradactyl (big leathery bird thing - probably spelled it wrong).

I know from the achievement list that you ride a dragon on the fantasy island. The flying mechanic works just fine, not super smooth, but not frustrating at all. It made me think of that PS3 game way back called Lair, and how I had wished the dragon flying mechanics were better. If Lair had had flying even as okay as Island Saver, it would've been one of my favorites.

Well, that's a day. I have my 10k rewards points for the month, so I'll get my $10 in a day or so.
