I used my trade money to get several games at Game N DVD Exchange today. Then I spent some time with my friend and played some stuff.
Fire Emblem Echoes was a 3DS game I played a few years ago on a rental and really liked it. I'm glad to have it in my collection finally.
Final Fantasy Tactics is another I've always wanted to sink my teeth into. I believe I played a handheld version of it at one time but not for very long.
Pinball Hall of Fame Gottlieb Collection: This is a great pinball collection that I've played on the Wii. I couldn't resist when I saw it. Now I have two systems I can play it on now. I wish they had made an Xbox version but they didn't. Only the Pinball Hall of Fame WIlliams Collection was put on Xbox. I have that too.
Today's Plays:
God Hand (PS2):
Between my friend and I, we have two copies of this game, one is complete, the other a loose disc. Back in 2009, we played this game on our systems to completion. Its story and ridiculous dialog and situations have stuck with us. We have the soundtrack and often quote lines from the game to this day. Well, the game is now rare and commanding pretty high prices on eBay. So, my friend is selling his complete copy. I however will keep the loose disc for now. So, just to make sure these discs still run, I hooked up my PS2 and played them both. I only played the first area or two in each. The fighting moves came back to me after a bit and it was just as fun as I remembered it. There are a lot of crazy fighting moves. The game can be challenging as well. I'm glad I still have the ability to play this game.
The Artful Escape:,
I started this Game Pass game for rewards points but got so caught up in it, I finished the whole game. It's not particularly challenging but that's ok. It has gentle platforming, forgiving rhythm game sequences, a good story, and reasonable 2D exploration. It has a lot of style and appealing music. I really enjoyed it. Big fat 100 point achievements too.
Fe:
I've played this before for rewards points and bounced off it a couple hours into it for some reason (probably a puzzle I couldn't solve or a stealth section that ground me to a halt). This time I spent even less with it. I don't really like having to guess what to do or where to go in a game. But, it is beautiful, I'll give it that.
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider:
Again with the stealth. I stole my required coin for the rewards and got out. Another very visually appealing game with good combat and controls but way too much stealth. I'm not a sneeker like Gollum.
I have several new games installing right now for later: Halo Infinite campaign is one. Serious Same 4 just got added to Game Pass too. I forget if I've played it before. I think it came out last year or something. My next retro game is KOTOR II as well, so I might fire up the Xbox One to play that from my Xbox 360 disc. I'm thinking of trading my Xbox One. Trade-in value is really good right now for it at Gamestop.
