Lately, as a fun thing to do, I get all mock crazy about topping my local achievements leaderboard on Xbox. I'll try any game that might dish out the achievements as quickly as possible. Often movie/TV licensed games fit the bill. Sometimes, I even dig them like Ben 10 Power Trip.

This is an open-world adventure/brawler with some mini-game puzzles. You can see what it is in the trailer above. I find it difficult to put into words all the details of the mechanics of a game. It's tiresome, technical, and with a video, totally unnecessary.

I will say this, it was fun to explore the large wilderness, small towns and the city of this game, finding collectibles and playing the puzzle mini-games, when I found them. The brawling isn't bad either. It's fun to unlock the different forms that Ben can turn into and use their special abilities. At the end of each story mission, you travel to another more abstract world and battle a boss, often performing some light platforming or environmental puzzle as part of the battle. I never ran into any technical problems with the game, all ran smoothly without glitches or slowdown.

I played this on Xbox's Game Pass service like I do most games these days. Howlongtobeat.com says the main story takes 4 hours. Maybe that's about right. I stayed longer to do all the side missions. I wanted to do all the challenges and puzzle mini-games too but they had you running around without a clue in this fairly large environment - like hunting for needles in a haystack. I really couldn't stomach it and I dislike having to go for a guide anymore. It seems like a waste of time when I could be enjoying another of 300+ games I have in my digital library, not to mention the 150 or so in Game Pass, and I'm not even mentioning the free-2-play games.

This game was developed by PHL Collective, a game studio based in my hometown of Philadelphia. Their next game will be DC League of Superpets. I'll keep an eye out for that one along with their previous movie/tv licensed games such as Addams Family Mansion Mayhem.

I've reviewed a few of the Ben 10 games.  It's been so long ago that I don't remember which ones they were.  Ben 10 is a fairly popular cartoon on Cartoon Network.  I've never watched it, though.

Just quickly looking over the wiki page for Ben 10, it's obvious how crazy popular it is.
