Oh, the things I'll try on Xbox's Game Pass. Kill It With FIre was part of a rewards quest, if I remember right, and I kept playing almost to the very end. I found it much more fun than I expected. Maybe trashing a room while trying to smash bugs was cathartic or something. I especially like lighting things on fire, hehe. Take a look.

Howlongtobeat.com says 3 hours to play.  I might have logged that? I finished 8 of the 9 levels in the game and left several objectives unfinished. Certainly you can go back and replay for all the collectibles and challenges that will take you longer than 3 hours. I got stuck on that final level, but I just looked up a walkthrough and realized I missed something very obvious, so I may go back to it.

But. . . this is a first person game. I didn't think much of it at first because it looks like a fairly basic PC developed game that I thought would give me control fits on console but it largely didn't. I found it surprisingly fun to hunt down spiders in everyday spaces and give them a squash, or a bullet, or a smash, or a flame, or a shuriken... you get the picture. You find all sorts of things to get rid of these critters and do some damage to the environments.

Now, I kind of like real spiders, but it's just fun to find and chase these things around, and destroy the rooms along the way, within a game. There are collectibles to find and objectives to solve written on your clipboard. Sometimes you are presented with a timed activity or a puzzle to solve. It's all around pretty decent. I got quite caught up in it.

Casey Donnellan Games LLC is the developer. It's this one guy who was part of Rooster Teeth, if you remember them: Red vs Blue and RWBY. Casey also worked on the RWBY game that came out in 2016. I've always been curious about that one.

A few years ago, I passed on meeting with Rooster Teeth at PAX and my brothers gave me heck for that!

I remember being really into Red vs Blue when the whole machinima thing was new. I checked out RWBY once too but didn't stick with it.
