Finished the second movie's worth of Lego Lord of the Rings the other day. There's an interesting mechanic where you can quickly switch to another set of characters in a totally different location. For instance from Frodo and Sam in Mordor to Aragorn and Legolas in Helms Deep.

Also played a level in Lego Marvel Superheroes for a needed achievement. I nearly got stuck on a level though. They didn't quite explain exactly how Iceman (?) can create ice objects. I stumbled on the solution by just jabbing buttons in different locations in the level. Very annoying, but I got through it.

I bought Lego The Hobbit on a sale. It's coming up soon on my list.

I unlocked and played all the games in Pac-Man Museum + for an achievement. There are 14 of them. Most of them drive me crazy with the controls not responding very accurately. One of the games was okay though. It was one with bigger sized characters. Not sure why that is. I think the problem might be due to my inability to move the thumbstick in exactly all four cardinal directions. If I move slightly off, Pac-Man doesn't respond. Very annoying.

One of my favorite games is this Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes made by Capy (used to be Capybara) Games. I played it way back when it came out on DS. Then I played it again when it came to Xbox Live Arcade on 360. Now I'm playing it again on Xbox Series S to get those three remaining achievements. It's a rpg with a turn-based battle system that's like a puzzle. I don't even know how to describe it really except you have characters that you line up on a battlefield that can create walls or attack formations by moving them in arrangements of three of the same character. It's a bit like a match-three style game but with sprites instead of gems. The art and music are really good too.

Minecraft. Played in my friend's survival world. I found a mine in the ground and all the resources I could wish for. Seems resources are more abundant in old abandoned mines than in the rocks themselves in this new 1.19 version of the game. However, I'm not sure I can continue in that world as my friend has a habit of abandoning worlds and creating new ones. I think I'll create my own, but solo play is really not very fun. I'm thinking of focusing more on multiplayer gaming right now.

Gems of War. I'm going after several achievements but I got one I didn't expect by doing a Guild quest. You can join a Guild in this game with other players and do special adventures that earn points and rewards for all Guild members. Guilds even face off against each other from time to time. I only wish it was in real-time though. In my opinion, multiplayer really isn't multiplayer if it's asychronous.

I could mention the five games I touched on for Game Pass rewards but why bother. I'm not sticking with any of them except maybe Super Mega Baseball 3. I did see Assassin's Creed Origins added to Game Pass though. I'm curious about that and may download it.

I kind of wish they'd put Jr. Pac-Man on one of these collections, and get Ms. Pac-Man back from ATGames. Looks like that's been given up as a lost cause, since even in Pac-Land she's been replaced by Pac-Mom.

That's not the only game where they changed the sprite to be Pac-Mom.  Other games on the collection changed it too, including Pac-In-Time and even Pac-Attack!  They forgot to change one instance, though, but I won't say what it is.

You know what's weird is that even though they don't have the Midway games on the collection, you can get statues of Professor Pac-Man, Jr. Pac-Man, Baby Pac-Man, and Chomp Chomp, but they call them different names.  I'm glad we're past the Ghostly Adventures era, but man this stuff is almost as weird.

Anyway, next week I plan to post a whole blog about the Pac-Man Museum+, so be sure to look out for that.

Jr. Pac-Man is that scrolling one, which is cool. Maybe there's some licensing problems like with Ms Pac-Man?

Yes, it was made using the same engine as Ms. Pac-Man, so it would pose the same legal headaches for Bandai Namco. Plus, Namco wasn't exactly happy that Midway went and made its own Pac-Man games without permission, and they took the license back after they felt that Midway was abusing the licensing deal. Given the legal mess with ATGames, a case could be made that they were pretty justified in their displeasure over these unauthorized games. They did tolerate Ms. Pac-Man because the game was a huge success and was still a money-maker after most other arcade games died out.

I hear the Xbox version of Pac-Man Museum+ has imput lag.  Hopefully they fix it.  I would love to know what Pac-Man game you are referring to that has "bigger sized characters" as you put it.  Be sure to look out for my Pac-Man Museum+ blog next week!

"Imput lag"! That must be it. I totally have trouble making very quick turns in most of the games which is almost a game-breaker.

It was Pac-Mania which has sort of 3D or isomentric viewed mazes and a slightly bigger, rounder Pac-Man. But, I still have some trouble with it.

Pac-Mania is one of my favorite Pac-Man games.  You know you can jump over the ghosts in that one, right?  I only ask because whenever I would go into arcades as a kid and watch people play that, you'd be surprised how many people didn't know that and I'd have to tell them.  Even though it's featured right on the cabinet.

Well, good you told me, because I didn't know.
