Played a bunch on Tuesday. Here's the breakdown.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle: My gaming routine now begins with a Switch game. I'm several "worlds" into this already and made progress through several more. You fight several battles and then go up against a boss which will present you with a special challenge. I really dig how the bosses get you to play differently. I like the free roaming areas as well. You can find collectibles and new buildings open up like the one for co-op play. If only. It's only local co-op.
Super Mega Baseball 3: I finally started to get the hang of batting this time and won a 3-inning exhibition game for the Game Pass rewards points. I'm keeping the game in rotation because i'd like to play online and maybe play a season.
Project Highrise: Architect's Edition: Games with Gold freebie this month. It's pretty good. 2D simulation of building a highrise and filling it with tenants. You have to put in electric, water, HVAC systems as well as make rooms for trash disposal and other services your tenants might need. I only went through the tutorials and played an hour or so. I think I'll keep it in the rotation.
Raskulls: Puzzle/platformer, very actiony. Games with Gold freebie as well. Xbox 360 game. It's pretty cool. You race through levels breaking colored bricks and avoid enemies. Sometimes you race against AI players or are chased by an attacker. I love the colorful cartoony art style. Thing is, this is too tense an experience for me right now. I don't need races against time in games right now. So maybe some other time.
Minecraft:
This is a picture of the Allay. It's a weird creature that flies around. If you give it an item it will follow you around and pick up more of that item and give it to you. If you hit a note on a note block it will give the items to the note block. The achievement was to get the Allay to drop a cake on the note block. My friend and I did this without too much trouble once we found the Allays in a Mansion and made the cakes.
We also got the achievement for trading with a villager at the build height, 320 blocks up. We built a ladder and pushed a villager up it to the top where we had a platform. It sounds easier than it was. We had to trap the villager near the ladder base and build a kind of elevator shaft around the ladder so the villager wouldn't fall off. Then a glitch made it so that the villager appeared a block below 320 to my character but not to Mark's. He got the achievement but I didn't. We had to reboot and try again so I could get it. My friend Mark was thoroughly exhausted at the end of all this and left the game after we had both gotten the achievement. It was like chopping cobbled deepslate with a wooden pickaxe, ie. slooooooow!
Gems of War: New adventure tasks appeared. I'm going for the achievement that unlocks when you do enough tasks to level a related engine to 10. I created a Dragon's Claw team for one of the tasks and fought with it for a while. It was fun to figure out a new set of tactics for this team. Tomorrow I'll probably pick up where I left off and try and do all the tasks allowed for the week, then move on to other things.
Well, that was a day. I got Kirby Star Alles from the library, so I'll start with that next time.
