What goes better with gaming than junk food that makes you giddy like 5 year olds on, well, Ding Dongs and Funnybones. Yeah, it's unhealthy, but it's only 1. . . ok 2. . . fine! 3 days a week. How else am I going to get through hours and hours of Halo mulitplayer. Ok, I don't play Halo multiplayer, but hours and hours of multiplayer Forza Horizon 5. Anyway, I bought some stuff for my retro gaming and played some more board games.
Thiking about the 90s this month, and so that means Sega Genesis and SNES to start with. I think these two, PGA Tour Golf and Golden Axe, were the first two games I got into in a major way. Mark and I challenged each other in PGA Golf all the time. We played all the sequels and European Tour variants too. Golden Axe really got me into side scrolling beat 'em ups and I've been playing them whenever I find one ever since. Yeah, I could just play Golden Axe on Xbox or via Sega Genesis Collection on Xbox, but I'm all about the original carts right now. I don't have a Genesis deck anymore, but I have a Retron 3 I'm going to play it on. Oh, nostalgia.
I picked up Halo again in anticipation of next month when I play games from the 2000s. Yeah, I could've just played it within Halo Master Chief Collection on Xbox, but I'm gonna play the original on my green cider block heavy Original Xbox Console. SNES games, I'm discovering, are expensive, especially the good ones, but i got Final Fight for a reasonable price mainly because I played it back then. I was later keen to get the best version of it which was the Sega CD version, which I used to own. I hope to revisit it before the month is out.
This is the front door to Classic Game Junkie game store in Glenside, PA. I went there recently for some of those retro purchases shown above. They have everything and the sales people are great.
Yahtzee this time. Mark and I played six games and ended in a tie, 3 to 3. I got in the sprit by yelling "Yahtzee!" everytime I got a five of a kind.
My favorite muscle car ever. The first car I drove was my dad's Dodge Charger, but not this one. It was a 1977 model designed more for luxury than speed. But it had a 8 cylindar engine and could move pretty good. I used to sneak it out of the driveway late at night to go joy riding. Unfortuneately it does not handle well in Forza Horizon 5. Maybe with a certain custom tuning, though, it could be a competitive racer.
I finished the main story in Lego Marvel Superheroes, the next game made after Lego Lord of the Rings. I'm working on the open world quests and whatnot.
I managed the last reasonable achievement in Microsoft Solitaire Collection. Now I'm just playing it for fun. I stared Microsoft Suduku and spent almost 90 minutes on an expert level puzzle. I won it, but that's too long for me to spend on one puzzle. i'll be focusing on the easier puzzles from now on.
So many cool games have launched on Game Pass recently, games like Commandos 3 and Ni No Kuni. I had to remove them though because they clogged up my hard drive. When will I ever get to them?
That's all for now. Football season is here and will be competing with my game time, or will it. I usually find some casual game to play while watching the game on my friend Mark's TV. Ha ha.
