I wish high on life was on PS5 cause I doubt it runs on my PC.
Xmas Game Blog

First up, a flyby of my very modest tiny Xmas train set, then a neat VG relate gift I saw at Barnes & Noble, and then a little personal gaming news.
The caboose keeps uncoupling, so I sent it to pasture until I can fix it.
Lego NES with retro TV! One of these days I might start building some lego sets.
Since last blog, I've been playing several different games. The first one was mentioned in a scene in High on Life which happens to be on Game Pass, Donut County. I played it to utter completion, getting all the achievements. It wasn't super difficult. The main gameplay mechanic is controling a hole on the ground and making objects fall into it. The more you drop into it, the bigger it gets, eventually letting you swallow up whole buildings.
The story is strange, but fun. A Racoon sells donuts as a cover for his crazy hole technology that funnels a town's trash (and everything else) into a factory for a megalomaniacle king racoon. You eventually convince the donut selling raccoon to change his ways and recatapult the town's things back to where they belong (addding a catapult feature to your hole), leading to going up against the king raccoon in a massive boss fight.
It's a bit of a puzzle game as well as having action, so there are hidden objectives that add replayability. I did literatlly everything in the game in one afternoon, so it's not a long game. Fun. I enjoyed it alot.
I did a bit more in Dreamlight Valley, getting Moana her house on the shore and bringing Maui along as well. I was also chasing the ghost of Minnie Mouse around trying to get a picture. Mickey will eventually be reunited with her, I'm sure.
I streamed modern day FPS CrossfireX for five seconds for an achievement and rewards points.
I bought New Tales of the Borderlands on a sale and played the first and part of the second chapter. It's falling sort of flat for me so far. I'm not really getting into the charcaters yet.
I returned to High on Life in order to gather warp cores enough to see the last warp environment, The Skate Park (I played the game streaming too). I had to look around the levels and hope for random encounters with the G3 to grab their warp cores. It took a while, but I found a lot of loot chests along the way and new NPCs I had missed. It's a shame the ultimate weapon Letsdoit isn't available except in the final bounty mission. That thing was like bottled Darth Sideous. The Skate Park is just a chance to use your grappling a lot. I can't seem to get the points needed to win it though. It's pretty minor content as it turns out. I guess I'm done with the game now.
Finally my friend got Forza Horizon 5 and so I returned to it. I got frustrated again not being able to beat Highly Skilled Drivatars in the weekly championships. I got beyond that in Forza Horizon 4. I'm not sure what's different now but the controls seem a little more unforgiving. I'm experimenting with drive control assists in the settings to see what those do. Maybe I'll find a sweet spot that makes this game more fun for me again.
And Happy Holidays, y'all! Get lots of gifts and lots of games. I'm going to be in a temporary layoff from work in January, so beware the burst of blogs that could result. Cioa!
