I feel I must’ve gotten a SNES about 1994. My memories are tied to certain games I played or wanted. I'll just list them.
I played Donkey Kong Country so much I got blisters on my fingers. It was a platform game I could get into because of the fast action, rides and boss battles.
My friend and I played a lot of Contra III: Alien Wars co-op. I was always looking for good co-op games to play.
Later I played ActRaiser, a very interesting game that combined several game genres into one.
I remember seeing Earthworm Jim playing on demo mode at a flea market. I really loved the look of the game, but when played, I found it very difficult.
I got my brawler fix on SNES with the Final Fight series. The ultimate version of this game eventually came out on Sega CD. It put two-player mode back in from the arcade game. That was my main interest in having it.
I had already been playing NBA Jam on Genesis, but my friend and I played it mostly on SNES. I think the graphics and sound were a little better on SNES. That’s how I remember it anyway.
I once had Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen. It was a RTS that also used cards for special attacks. I had a loose cart and no manual, and so I didn’t know what the cards did. In one campaign, I got to the final battle and unleashed one of my cards. It killed both sides in a ball of flame. Ha ha.
The Tick and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego were games I never had but wanted. I was way into both TV shows at the time. I loved the humor of The Tick and the music of Rockapella in Carmen Sandiego.
TV Time! SNES commercial. I love how the Nintendo commercials had the actor playing games on a wall sized screen.

My SNES came bundled with A Link to the Past, which was the most amazing game I'd ever played up to that point. I also got Mortal Kombat II, which was one of the best arcade to home conversions pre-PS1, and was a harbinger of Nintendo's reversal of its censorship policies. It was ironically released 1 week before the industry-wide ESRB ratings system went live, so it just had a small warning label on the front of the box. Nintendo had tried to be family friendly in response to Congressional threats to regulate the video game industry, but they lost big on the first MK game.
Super Metroid was another near-perfect SNES game, still arguably my favorite side-scroller of all time. I was disappointed when Nintendo never made a Metroid game for the N64.

Somehow I've managed to skate past all the biggest titles for these 90s systems. They are games I'd like to go back to and try.

SNES is my favorite console! We got one from my aunt one year for Christmas (must have been 1994 or 95). My fondest memories include DKC, Final Fantasy III, Turtles in Time, and the Power Rangers game (which is simple but very fun). SNES is special because there are TONS of great games for it, my personal collection right now is at 120 carts plus SNES mini and NSO SNES games.

Wow! That's cool. I always felt it was hard to collect for SNES 'cause the games always seemed pricey compared to the other systems. I'd love to do it though.

They can be pricey, but right now, nothing is more pricey than Gamecube games.

The SNES is my favorite game console. That's all I have to say.

I love cartridge-based systems. They seem so much more durable that the laser disc ones.

Yes it is. Ever since I Love You, Man, I couldn't stand him, but he's been in a lot of movies I like actually. I should reconsider my dislike.
