Makes me think of the old Mario Bros. commercial from Atari where they sing to the tune of the old "Car 54 Where Are You?" TV show.
La Dolce Vita. . . Mario?

I was watching the 1960 Fellini film La Dolce Vita the other day and came across a classic line from the Super Mario Bros. games. Just coincidence? Who knows. Do you?
It's about half way through the movie when the main character is reporting on a sighting of The Madonna. Masses of people show up to the tree where two kids say they saw the Madonna. It begins to rain and people rush the tree to tear souvenirs from it, destroying it. In the chaos of people leaving the sight, suddenly someone shouts, "Mario, where are you?". There are no main characters named Mario in the film, so I think it was just a random person (not Luigi) looking for someone named Mario, but it was translated in the subtitles, which gave it a little more importance. Anyway, a gamer like myself couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and wonder if the people at Nintendo were thinking of La Dolce Vita when creating Mario and Luigi games.
I found the clip on youtube! At the 30 sec mark they say the line.
