Hurrying to complete last week's gaming before the next one starts tomorrow. I played a bunch of virtual pinball and a few regular video games last week.
The Pinball Arcade: This app on consoles has been around a while now. I forgot how many tables it had, which is a lot. I was happy to find plenty of 80s tables to try out. I ended up buying three Gottlieb table packs. Farsight Studios lost the licence for Bally and Williams, so I couldn't buy any more of those, but I had several from when I first downloaded the app. Of the Williams tables I played: Firepower, Black Knight and Sorcerer; Bally: Xenon; and Gottlieb: Black Hole, Haunted House, Goin' Nuts, El Dorado City of Gold, Victory, Bone Busters inc, and Lights...Camera...Action. Most memorable for me this time was Xenon. This game is surprisingly risque, and I don't mean the table art is particularly explicit, but the sounds and actions are very suggestive. I feel like a lot of tables were made for over excited teenage boys, which is probably true. I set new high scores for myself on every table, but didn't spend a lot of time studying the rule sets to achieve more table goals. At some point I'll do that.
And now for not particularly retro stuff I played:
Peggle 2: Revisisted this for a Game Pass Quest. What a fantastic game! It's like something that feels very retro but is perfected to an exciting degree. It's basically Pachinko and Billiards in one game. I really love returning to it. Why the heck did they stop there? I guess it went mobile with Peggle Blast but that was in 2014. We need a new Peggle.
EDF 2025: Breaking my brain on this yet again. I worked on my Fencer and Air Raider and even my Ranger. My friend happened on an online team with several mega players and picked up some new high level weapons on Inferno mode. I suppose I should try that strategy, but I don't like joining teams if I can't hold my own. I'm no hanger on.
EDF Insect Armageddon: I revisited this just to see if I could make any headway on achievements I didn't get years ago. 10k spider kills seemed doable but then you see how many you get on a particular level and realize how much time this will take. I played a few levels and one multiplayer. People are still playing this at least.
Torchlight 2: Picked this up on a sale a while back and started it after a random roll within my digital collection. It's very fun. I may return to it, or maybe not. It seems I tend to not continue games past the day or weekend that I play them. My attention span must be shot.... What did I just say?
