No, not real ticks, but THE Tick, the animated 1990s TV show based on the comic of the same name by Ben Edlund. I love this show so much: the big band swing style opening music, the humorous parodies of super heroes, the shear wackiness of the stories, and the loads of visual jokes that go on in the background or worked into a scene. It's smart, it's fun, it's silly; a perfect triple scoop icecream cone of a show. Oh, and I played a load of video games too. See below.
Game Pass Quest Games:
Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem: I finished the game. It's fairly short, 5 long chapters. Very fun. I'll be continuing with it as my goto for daily GP plays and achievements. Check out me riding a bull.
Conan Exiles: I had to craft 20 items for GP rewards. This is a neat survival/adventure MMO but the game does not help you at all, not even a text tutorial. It was serious pulling teeth to figure out how to expand my range of craftable items (I had figured out the basics in a previous play). After a few deaths and one attempt to cook human flesh (hey, got try it once, right?... right?), I gave up and just crafted 20 shoes. Lame, but I don't like this game's confusing menus.
Social Game:
Earth Defence Force 2025: I worked on all four of my characters and made good headway. I'm around 55% completion. Online limits on armor and weapons can be removed at 70% I'm told, so that's my goal. It makes the game a little easier when you can use your best weapons regardless of level or difficulty. (I had another video but even though the previous one copied over easily, this one - with the same sort of url - wouldn't go. WTF!)
Retro:
Contra III: Alien Wars: Played this on Contra's Anniversary Collection. Still hard, better with a co-op buddy like I used to play it with my friend Mark.
Shining Force: Discovered this in the Sega Genesis Collection and played through the first battle, where I died. It's a nice turn-based strategy RPG. I'm keen to return to it.
Wolfenstein 3D: Messed around in this game for a while again going for an achievement which I failed to get. Darn if it isn't hard even on moderate difficulty.
Mega Man 5: Maybe I got a little farther than in previous Mega Man's but not much. I'm not big on memorizing patterns and repeating them to perfection, just not my brain's joy button.
I disovered that a Secret of Mana collection is being released later this year called Collection of Mana. I'll be looking out for that.
Doom: Played through most of a region of levels before getting crushed by a totally unexpected ceiling trap. SERIOUSLY! This game just sent be back to the beginning of the level with no equipment whatsoever, stuff I'd accumulated through four or five previous levels. No way I'm putting up with BS!
Discoverd that there will be a Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection coming out soon with the first three JP games. I'm interested in the NES and SNES JP games, but I'll also check out the Genesis one that's a 2D side scrolling platformer.
Casual:
More progress made in MS Suduku, Mahjong and Wordament on Android. The end of the achievements for each is in sight. I think I might play my DS after I'm done, or undocked Switch.
That's a week.

You know it's strange that I never got into The Tick. Especially since I really like a similar underground humorous comic series. That being Sam & Max. They're my favorite comic book characters and they also had a funny yet short lived Saturday morning cartoon. And a bunch of great point and click adventure games, too. If you haven't checked them out yet, I recommend that you do!
The big draw for me with Collection of Mana was I was finally able to play Trials of Mana in the US. Unfortunately it was a hot mess. The first SNES Secret of Mana game is really good, though.

I've tried one of the Sam & Max games once but got stuck. I'm always interested in trying one of them out again though.
I just rented the Mana collection from the library, so I hope to get some time in with Secret of Mana.

I actually enjoyed Trials of Mana. I thought its combat was smoother than SoM. The collection also has FF Adventure (Mana 1). I recently picked up the 3-D remake of Trials of Mana as well. But everything considered, that's a solid collection of games. I just wish they'd included Sword of Mana, which was a FF Adventure remake that was actually done by one of Nintendo's subsidiaries at a time when Nintendo and Square Enix were trying for a reconciliation.

It sounds like a great collection.

I don't know if the X series is gonna be much better if you're not a fan of platformers ...

Well, if it gets easier, I might atart to like it. I'm a fan of games like Klonoa and Rayman Origins/Legends, so there's always hope I can get into it. Super Mario Bros Wonder looks like it might be intersting.
