This Week in Knights

I saw this 90s animated show called King Arthur and the Knights of Justice. I was attracted by the excellent colors and drawing of the animations. It's about a football team that gets transported to King Arthur's time by Merlin to save Arthur and his knights from Morgana. It's a neat premise. I find the writting a bit dull but not stupid. The real thrill though is the inventiveness of the animation and action. I hope to watch more of it. It's all on youtube.

Games now.

Played for Rewards on Game Pass:

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider: I returned to this and stumbled through remembering the controls as I explored this wonderfully detailed world. I somehow gained the 50 coins needed for the rewards really quickly just by picking up stuff from shelves and tables.

Scorn: This is a H.R. Gieger influenced Myth-like exploration/puzzle game. It has a really cool creepy environment that's a cross between high tech and organic matterial. It's like exploring the guts of a giant infused with cybernetics. You play as a creature once embedded in this place suddenly awake and unknowing. I managed to get a device implanted into my hand to operate the machinery, opened a few doors, manipulated cranes and a kind of turnstile control booth, but for the life of me (just like in Myst) I could not get any further. No needed achievement for me.

Rune Factory 4: Special: More success here in this 16-bit style rpg with farming. I like the farming aspect as it intersects with every other aspect of this game. It's actually kind of central to all the mechanics of fighting, exploration and personal buffs. I like that. I played through an achievement and further until I could save properly and next time begin a new day. I'd like to return to it next week for more.

Social Game:

EDF 2025:  I worked on my Air Raider and lucked out when several great players, including my friend Mark (Mad Krammer), showed up online and helped run a couple dozen levels on hard difficulty. I'm at 57% completion so far. This counts all difficulty levels and number of weapons collected. There are something like 800 weapons across 4 characters, 85 solo levels times 5 difficulty levels and 94 online levels times 5: That's 895 levels to complete and 800 weapons to pick up for 100%. I only need 70% to unlock all limits in online, though. That's my goal but it's a long term one. A shorter term goal is achievements for Hard with my Air Raider, which is what I was doing. Here's a vid of my Wing Diver the day before going gonzo on a giant bee.

No retro this week, unfortuneately. I'm finding it difficult to find the time, but I'm working on it.

Casual: Almost at Gold for daily challenges in Suduko, Mahjong and Wordament. Once there I'll look for other achievements to get until the end of the month. I'm hoping to finish up with these soon because I'd like to work in some retro mobile play like the Final Fantasy III I have in my DS right now.

Have a good weekend. I'll be at my library having fun working. Despite the modest status of my job, I love working at the library, my favorite place on Earth.

I think there was also a SNES game based on that King Arthur cartoon.

I reviewed Rune Factory 4 Special

Yikes, the King Arthur game got awful reviews.

In Rune Factory 4, I hope to befriend some monsters and have them help me farm.

Some monsters help you farm, and others help you fight!
