Quite by accident I started playing this for a Game Pass rewards quest. I'd played it before for the same reason but didn't stick with it. I wondered what I was thinking because I'm really liking it now. It's currently my goto daily achievement game for Game Pass rewards. I play until an achievement pops and then move on to other games. I'm not using a guide or looking at the achievement list either. I'm just playing for story and adventure. 

This is an action RPG but you can stop time and play it as a turn-based one if you want. Three of your team of four will battle on their own until you give them orders or take control of them. I'm playing full on action with a Rogue character that reminds me of Nebula from Guardians of the Galaxy. 

I'm enjoying the open world too, the exploring, hunting and resource collecting. I just got my first horse, so that helps move around the very large play areas. Occationally I'll run across a battle I can't win and have to rapidly retreat. There's no warning about higher level enemies other than watching your health plumet. That's okay though. It feels realistic in that way and I can usually get away from the area to regroup. 

There are crafting elements in the game I've only touched on so far. I can't wait to start doing more of that. My friend Mad Krammer has caught my enthusiasm and bought the game on a sale for $10. He's playing it too but as a Warrior class. It's interesting to see how he plays it differently than me.
